Appearing as an immovable state, like a mandala of a mirror; and appearing as a red round cloak, a golden wind banner and its pillar, residing in the sky; seeing it reside immovably as if sitting; appearing from the exhausted mandala of the object of focus, appearing in the sky like a jewel wind banner, and so on for the other three; the dense collection of appearances is like being extremely clear, clear to everything, becoming like a mandala of the sky and residing, and if generated by the mind, it appears to increase, these are the signs of the accomplishment of the nine, such as water. Regarding the earth, the reason why the method of accomplishment through previous practice, the object of practice when not practiced, and the signs of accomplishment and non-accomplishment were not spoken of, is because it appears as not knowing as it is. Sixth, when these signs appear, abandon the discrimination of colors and the attention to the signs, and clearly focus only on that name and become accustomed to it. Seventh, becoming one and then becoming many, and transforming water into earth in the sky or water and walking with feet, etc.; birds can enter the earth and appear upwards, and raining water, and transforming earth and mountains, etc., into rivers and oceans; emitting smoke and igniting flames, and raining fire-extinguishing rain, and burning whatever is desired; when liberating from sorrow, burning the body with fire, and making the realm of the divine eye appear; walking quickly like the wind and raining wind, etc.; transforming the body into blue and creating darkness, etc.; transforming the body into yellow and turning it into gold, etc.; transforming the body into red, etc.; transforming the body into white and causing prolonged sleep, destroying darkness, making the realm of the divine eye appear; the body becomes clear, and prolonged sleep, and making the realm of the divine eye appear, etc.; opening the obscurations, and transforming into space within the earth and mountains, etc., and performing actions, and walking directly on walls, etc., these are the activities of exhausting water, etc. On the essence of earth, transforming gold, etc., into exhaustion at will, those will transform as they are, and gold, etc., can also do that and that function.

This has been explained. The eighth is: If exhaustion is made for form and touch, why is it not made for the other eight form sense bases? Form and touch are both present in oneself and others, and in all realms of sentient beings with form, and the five faculties are not present in other continuums, and the two, smell and taste, are also not present in the form realm, so exhaustion is not made. This is the view of the Basic Treatise. Exhaustion is not made for sound because it is impermanent. In the formless realm, one can go to all of space, and consciousness also has the exhaustion of objects as its object, so exhaustion is made. The Basic Treatise says that the eight form sense bases can exhaust the form realm and above. Therefore, exhaustion is not made for the latter two formless realms, because the third cuts off the object of focus, and the fourth gathers the mind inward, so it is not clear. For the exhaustion of form, four exhaustions of color as the cause are established, because without arising, one cannot pervade the object with the blue color etc. that will arise. This is the view of the Compendium. The ninth is, the Sunlight Treatise says: Because it spreads and pervades without interruption, it is the sense base of exhaustion. Just like that. Explaining exhaustion in this way seems to be a characteristic only of the Sunlight Treatise in the scriptures, so here too it is explained in detail in accordance with it. Because I have also seen some great ones misunderstand the view here. Here, the sixth category of stainless wisdom, the eight overcoming sense bases, are explained in detail. The sixth category is: Overcoming sense bases is the basis of division. The number of divisions is eight, that is, shape and color overcoming four each, that's how it is. Among them, the first four are that the inner yogi himself, through the way of conceiving of form, looks at the small external forms with nine aspects, and overcomes those forms and knows them, and overcomes and sees them, conceiving in this way, this is called the first. Adding the large to the small, and adding the others in the same way, this is the second. The inner yogi himself, through the way of conceiving of formlessness. Adding in this way, making one each of large and small, these are the latter two. Separately also means the same. Among them, the small is the form of sentient beings, and its good
