For those who are eloquent but do not know the methods of non-regression of mind, etc., it is incorrect to say that they understand the scriptures and want to debate with opponents different from them, as well as the great gods and the all-pervading gods, etc., and everything else. Similarly, in the Clear Word Treatise, the statement that "the two truths are reasonably apprehended simultaneously because there are no entities with different realms of conditioned and unconditioned phenomena" is combined in various ways, and it is explained that these statements eliminate those who think that grasping each truth separately is contradictory, which is easy to understand, but this is also meaningless. Because these contents listed in the commentary are the sixteen objects of wrong conceptions and the sixteen reasons. The end of the wrong conceiver, the way of conceiving, and the reason should be applied to all situations in this way according to the situation. Second, for what? For the nature of the object of the middle peak must be grasped definitely, that is, the way to realize it. The reason is: if there is a way to realize it, there must be a nature to be realized, then all dharmas should be recognized as the nature of non-entity. Because in all aspects of all dharmas, it is said that all dharmas have no self-nature, etc. Third, for what? For the wisdom of all-knowing. The reason is: if there is all-knowing, there must be two objects, then when he observes the boundaries of the three thousand great thousand worlds with the Buddha's eye, if even non-entity cannot be seen, then needless to say there is entity, because it is said that entity and non-entity are not seen, etc. Fourth, for what? For dividing the conventional truth and the ultimate truth into two. The reason is: if there are two, there must be a difference, then what is the conventional suchness of the world, that is the ultimate suchness, because suchness and the nature of non-proliferation are undifferentiated, etc. Here, starting from the fourth of the conceptual thoughts or wrong obscurations to be eliminated, a marginal examination is made on the category of the two truths. Here, a slight examination of the edge of the two truths is divided into two: the two truths must be determined, and the nature of the two truths to be determined. First: all that the Buddhas said is the two truths.

It is merely a composition. As stated in the Sutra of the Meeting of Father and Son: "The Knower of the World, without having heard from others, declares these two truths himself. Whatever is conventional is also ultimate; there is no third truth." Also, as stated in the Root Verses on the Middle Way: "The Buddhas teach the Dharma based on two truths: the conventional truth of the world and the truth of the ultimate meaning." Also, as stated in the Two Truths: "Those who know the distinction between the two truths will not be confused about the teachings of the Sage. Having accumulated all those merits, they will go to the other shore of perfection." This is also the method of leading beings to Nirvana, as stated in the Root Verses on the Middle Way: "Without relying on convention, the ultimate meaning cannot be realized. Without realizing the ultimate meaning, Nirvana cannot be attained." And in the Essence of the Middle Way: "Without the ladder of true convention, it is not reasonable for the wise to climb to the top of the true great mansion." Therefore, those who possess realization should contemplate these two truths. Second, there are two parts: a general explanation of the two truths and a separate explanation. First, there is no distinction between the two truths made by their own nature. Otherwise, if they are established as one entity, then the ultimate truth would also be merely a fabricated construct of conceptual thought; like the ultimate truth, the conventional truth would also become an unadulterated nature that has not been measured by the mind; and all sentient beings would effortlessly attain liberation because of realizing the ultimate truth. Thus, in the Root Verses on the Middle Way, it is also said: "How can something made by its own nature be established? Nature is uncreated and does not depend on others." And in the Samadhi Sutra of the Noble One Who Shows the Ultimate Truth: "Those who speak of the conventional as the ultimate should be known to have a mistaken mind." And in the King of Samadhi Sutra: "The eye, ear, and nose are not valid cognitions; neither are the tongue, body, and mind. If these faculties were valid, what use would the noble path be to anyone?" If the entities are established as different, then like light and darkness, it is not the nature of the conventional. Just as one is frightened by mistaking a rope for a snake and thinks that seeing the absence of an elephant is a remedy, so too, one thinks that realizing the ultimate truth can counteract the conventional.
