If all conceptualizations subside, it will become merely a non-appearing wisdom, and in that case, it will not become omniscient. However, if it does not subside, since it is not separated from grasping at entities, thinking, 'How can this immediately generate Buddhahood?' the two truths will become contradictory in the mind. Secondly, if it is said that criticisms of the aspect of objects arise continuously, this is not to say that there is a fault in the object-aspect of the Middle Way Peak, but rather that those disputes arose because of the difficulty in understanding. The venerable one thought to subtly explain its profundity, and therefore said "this" and so on. It is also irrelevant to say that the sutra explains that criticism is made through the words of the venerable Subhuti and the answer is given through the words of the Teacher. As Aryadeva and Shantideva explain, the root of this treatise is to briefly explain the inverted views, and the teacher also thinks so, but in order to reduce the amount of words, he combines the treatise on object-aspects and the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds into one. The second is the second part of explaining what is to be abandoned, a detailed explanation. The chapter divisions here are extensive, first connecting the context and explaining the meaning of the root. The second part has three points, the first of which is: under the samadhi of the Middle Way Peak, inverted views are explained. As it says in the Letter to a Friend: "Faith, discipline, learning, and giving, stainless shame, knowledge, and conscientiousness, the Victorious One has declared to be the seven treasures. Realize that other treasures are trivial and meaningless." Thus, what kind of inverted views do bodhisattvas who possess the treasure of wisdom that properly distinguishes the two truths need to eliminate in order to cultivate that samadhi? Because it is necessary to give an answer to this. The second is: the inverted views of those who are skilled at debating the profound meaning are the support of omniscience, that is, they have an object, and the sutra considers there to be sixteen types. If the object, reason, etc., are not objects, then how can omniscience be an object? In the Heart Essence, the object and so on are the objects of those. Because it is related to the object, all aspects of knowledge are established as being close to the object, just as if the king's son commits a crime, it is as if the king has committed a crime. If an inverted view arises about an object, then add "to" to the end of all of the object, etc.

Sixteen. How to make sixteen? In other explanations, the number is not clearly stated, although in "Fame," the two truths, conventional and ultimate, are separated to make sixteen, but in "Ornament of Light," separating abandonment and realization is the fundamental intention. The third is the third of the extensive explanation, explained by the commentary. The outline here is broad, and first, the object to be refuted, conceptual thought, is explained. The third part has three points: the conceptual thought to be refuted, the refuter's answer, and the method of generating samadhi after refutation. The first point is that the basis of division is the mistaken conceptual thought of the object-possessor, which is the basis of the intermediate apex, whether it is omniscience itself or its cause. The nature of the division is sixteen types. The reason for the division is that it is the object-possessor of the sixteen objects mentioned earlier. What are these sixteen? The first part has four points: what object is conceptualized, in what way is it conceptualized, the reason for such conceptualization, and the individual who conceptualizes mistakenly. The first point is that the object of the intermediate apex is reasonable, that is, it has been categorized. The second point is the thought that the categorized object is unreasonable, and its nature is doubt. If it is thought to contradict wrong knowledge, it is merely thinking that it is unreasonable because it contradicts the promise of others, and one is not completely certain, so it is doubt, because it depends on different places, so the mind will become two. Alternatively, because certainty has not been obtained through valid cognition, it is intended that it will not ultimately go beyond doubt. The third point is that if the object exists, then it must be established as two, then the realms of conditioned and unconditioned phenomena are also without substance, because the realm of unconditioned phenomena is said to be without substance, so it is not permissible for the object to be reasonable, and if the object is reasonable, then it is not permissible for there to be no object, that is, it establishes mutually contradictory meanings, and it appears in the mind like an admission of contradiction, and this is taken as the reason. The fourth point is that all beings mistakenly conceptualize those who are skilled in the methods of bodhisattvas and who do not understand how existence and non-existence do not contradict each other in the two truths, but are merely skilled at arguing. The reason why this does not contradict is that showing that the two objects do not exist is the ultimate truth, and the reasonableness of the object is the conventional truth, so in the ultimate truth, the object is reasonable, and in the conventional truth, it is unreasonable for there to be no object. The way in which it does not contradict is that it should be known that there is no exception, and it is so everywhere. Eight clear realizations.
