Explaining the way of explaining. The second part has three points: briefly explaining from the perspective of time, elaborately explaining from the perspective of classification, and concluding from the perspective of number. The first point is: the explanation that the Tathagata is the Dharmakaya like a teacher and the Nirmanakaya like a noble one is not clear in the commentary, but it seems to be the intention. From the "Sunlight," this verse is connected to the activity after being made one with the Nirmanakaya and "entering." Similarly, it also appears in the "Pramanavarttika" and "Complete," and all three consider the three bodies as the Dharmakaya and regard that as its activity. The second part has three points: placing on the basis of the path, the path, and the fruit of the path. The first point is: the word "placing" in the second line is also connected here, who places? It is the Tathagata. Where to place? Among those to be tamed. Where to place? In the real beings to be tamed who can generate the path of liberation. How to place? By performing the activity of pacifying the suffering of the three evil realms and the goddesses. That is, for the beings in the evil realms, showing miracles, and when they generate faith, teaching the Dharma, liberating them from those birth places, and placing them on the basis of gods and humans; for the beings in the good realms, for those who are intoxicated by craving for the heavenly realm, making them see the burning palace, thereby teaching the impermanence of conditioned things, etc.; for the gods of the upper realm, for those who are bound by the view of Brahma, teaching the emptiness of all dharmas, thereby freeing them from wrong views; for humans, by guiding them to take refuge and uphold the precepts, making their continuum a vessel. As it is said in the "Bhadrakalpika Sutra": "Rabi, I, from here, with the Buddha's eye, see the world, in the eastern world, in the number of the sands of the Ganges, with the intention for great Bodhi, pacifying the suffering of the hell beings." Who places and where to place applies to everything. In the "Complete," "pacifying" is used for beings other than humans, and the sutras related to humans are applied to the second sutra. The "activity" mentioned here refers to the twenty-six activities. The second part has four points: placing on the accumulation path, the preparation path, the seeing path, and the meditation path. The first part has five points, first are the four ways of gathering: giving, kind speech, beneficial action, and acting in accordance with the Dharma. As Acharya Ashvaghosa said in the "Practice of Conventional Bodhicitta": "With the fan of giving, beckoning well, with pleasant words..."

Having spoken, abandoning the arrogance of acting, it is necessary to conduct a great consultation that is in accordance with the meaning. As it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: The first is the object that becomes a vessel, the second is to have faith, the third is to accomplish, and the fourth is to act accordingly. Thus it is. In the sutra, giving has two aspects, Dharma and wealth. Connecting the latter's worldly Dharma giving with the former's peace of human beings, thus performing the four ways of gathering both worldly and transcendental Dharma. Second, understanding the acceptance and rejection of all defilements and their purification through hearing and thinking is: There is nothing whatsoever that would become all defilements, or become completely purified, or exist in the cycle of the five realms. Thus it is. Third, truly accomplishing the benefit of limitless sentient beings as it is, is: Although sentient beings are completely matured through skillful means, one does not cling to sentient beings, nor does one cling to the name of sentient beings. Thus it is. Fourth, mainly the six perfections, which are: I myself also give, and I also urge others to give. Thus it is. Fifth, the benefit of both, which is the ten virtues that lead to Buddhahood: I myself also properly uphold the path of the ten virtuous actions, and I also urge others to properly uphold the path of the ten virtuous actions. Thus it is. Second, mainly through the meditation arising from the worldly, understanding and becoming accustomed to the emptiness of all phenomena by their own nature is: The great Bodhisattva, having seen the emptiness of all phenomena by their own nature, does not turn back from the unexcelled perfect enlightenment. Thus it is. Third, the first ground of realizing the meaning of the all-pervading Dharma-nature in which the two, grasper and grasped, are exhausted is: The great Bodhisattva practices the Prajnaparamita of the emptiness of self-nature, and does not become confused by saying that form is emptiness or not emptiness. Thus it is. Fourth, there are six: They are placed between the fifth ground, the sixth, the seventh, the eighth, the ninth, and the tenth ground. First, the grounds from the second to the fifth, which realize that all phenomena are merely designations, are: All those phenomena are imputed by relying on worldly conventions, but they are not ultimately true. Thus it is. Second is: In the aspect of the two, grasper and grasped, phenomena are without an object of focus. The sixth ground is: The Bodhisattva, with skillful means, understands all phenomena.
