Since it is said that if there is attachment, what need is there to mention attachment to the existence of things, because there is no attachment to the existence or non-existence of things. Etc. The fourth is: In what is it divided? It is divided into the two truths of conventional and ultimate truth. The reason is: If there are two, there must be a difference. Since what is the suchness of the conventional in the world, that is the suchness of the ultimate, because the suchness and the nature of freedom from elaboration are inseparable. Etc. Here, starting from the conceptual mind to be eliminated or the fourth obscuration of error, a marginal examination is made of the category of the two truths. Here, a slight examination of the edge of the two truths is divided into two parts: it is necessary to determine the two truths; the nature of the two truths to be determined. The first part is: All that the Buddhas have said is based solely on the two truths. As it is said in the Sutra of Meeting Father and Son: The knower of the world does not listen to others, but teaches by these two truths themselves, what is conventional is the ultimate, and there is no third truth. Also, as it is said in the Root Wisdom of the Middle Way: The Buddhas teach the Dharma, truly relying on the two truths, namely the conventional truth of the world and the truth of the ultimate meaning. Also, as it is said in the Two Truths: Those who know the difference between the two truths are not confused about the teachings of the Able One, and after they have accumulated all the merits, they will go to the perfect shore. This is the method of leading sentient beings to Nirvana. As it is said in the Root Wisdom of the Middle Way: Without relying on language, one cannot realize the ultimate meaning, and if one does not realize the ultimate meaning, one cannot attain Nirvana. Also, as it is said in the Essence of the Middle Way: Without the ladder of true conventionality, wanting to climb on top of the true mansion is impossible for the wise. Therefore, those who have realization should contemplate these two. The second part is divided into two parts: the two truths in general and the two truths separately. The first part is: There is no difference in the nature of the two truths, otherwise, if the nature becomes one, then the ultimate is only a fabrication fabricated by conceptual thought, and like the ultimate, the conventional will also become an uncreated nature that has not been measured by conceptual thought, and all sentient beings will also become ultimate.

In order to thoroughly realize the ultimate truth, one will effortlessly attain liberation. As it is said in the Root Verses on the Middle Way: "If self-nature is made, how can it be established? Self-nature is not made, nor does it depend on others." And in the Samadhi Sutra of the Holy One Showing That Which Is Truly Ultimate, it says: "Those who speak of the conventional as the ultimate should be known to have deluded minds." And in the King of Samadhi Sutra, it says: "The eye, ear, and nose are not valid cognizers, nor are the tongue, body, and mind. If these faculties were valid, then what would the noble path do for anyone?" If the essence were established as different, like light and darkness, it would not be the nature of the conventional. Just as fearing a rope mistaken for a snake, and thinking that seeing the absence of an elephant is liberation, if one thinks that realizing the ultimate truth does not eliminate the defilement of attachment to the conventional, there would be endless faults. In the Mother of the Buddhas Sutra, it is also said: "The conventional truth of the world is other, and the ultimate truth is also other, this does not exist." And in the commentaries on the Ornament of Clear Realization, it is mentioned that the Buddha has repeatedly declared that those dharmas and their suchness are neither different nor the same. If one and other are not established, then it would follow that the two truths do not exist, but we accept that the essence of the two truths, one and other, are not established. However, we consider this to be merely the otherness that remains after the negation of oneness, like things and non-things. The assertion that the distinctions of the two truths should not be other is not pervasive, because the form of freedom from elaboration can be designated as the ultimate truth, just as the appearance and the object to be examined are mixed together, and then a name is given to the self-character. In the sutra it is also said: "For dharmas without letters, who is the listener and who is the speaker? Attaching labels to things that do not change, and then thinking that this is the listener and the speaker." Furthermore, the scriptures have repeatedly stated that the two truths are neither one nor other, so there is no scriptural harm. Moreover, you believe that both one and other are harmed by reasoning, and that the essence of both truths is established, so only you will fall into the faults that you yourself have set up. Therefore, saying "the essence is one, but the reverse is different" is also unreasonable. In the Mind at Rest, it says: "Like conditioned things and impermanence, if it does not exist, it will not arise, this is certain. Empty
