To ascertain. How to practice it? The method of abandoning the grasping and the grasped thoughts through practice. First, whatever appears together is necessarily non-different in substance. For example, happiness and the awareness that experiences happiness. The appearance of blue and the mind that grasps blue are also necessarily appearing together. From this reason, it is determined that the things that appear as external objects do not exist outside the mind that manifests them. The subject of this argument is the appearance and the mind that manifests it. The meaning of the proposition is that these two are not different substances. If it is in accordance with the false aspect, then it is only the negation of difference, but if it is in accordance with the true aspect, then it is intended to establish oneness. The meaning of the reason is that these two exist simultaneously, so appearing together is realization, and it is certain that one realization implies the other realization. That is, from complete certainty, because appearing together is certain. As it is said in the Thirty Verses: "Blue and the consciousness of blue are not other." If this alone is the meaning of the unreality of the grasped, then would the Sautrantika school also assert the unreality of the grasped? There is no fault. Although the Sautrantika school does not consider the appearance of objects to be different from the sense consciousness, it considers the aspect to be given by external objects. Here, however, it is considered that by the power of habit, consciousness arises as having the aspect of an object. Second, for the things that appear as external objects, one should contemplate and meditate, in the general negation, it is only the inner mind, and in the specific negation, there is no external object. Third, in this way, by meditating that there is no grasped but only the grasper, one abandons the clinging to external objects, but does not completely abandon the clinging to the aspect of grasping to the inner mind. Because, if external objects do not exist, then grasping external objects is meaningless. However, due to the habit of practice from beginningless time, consciousness will arise as having the aspect of an object, so there is still clinging to grasping external objects. The second part has three aspects: determining the unreality of the grasper, the method of recognizing and practicing it, and the method of abandoning the grasping thoughts through practice. First, as it is said in the Thirty Verses: "Because there is no grasped, there is no grasper." Since there is no grasped, then the grasper also does not exist, because the two are mutually dependent. Therefore, it is determined, as it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: "If one of them does not exist, both are diminished."

is transformed. As it is said. The second is, to meditate with the firm conviction that both the apprehended and the apprehender are absent. The third is, having meditated in this way, even the characteristic of the aspect of clinging to the non-duality of the mind, that is, the clinging to mere consciousness or clinging itself, is eliminated. However, it is determined that the sole wisdom that is non-dual in terms of the apprehended and the apprehender is the very nature of being truly existent, that is, there is clinging. Clarification: The "determination of the aspect of the part that distinguishes emptiness, such as the apprehended," does not refer to the path of application that distinguishes or separates the apprehended and the apprehender. This teacher is a Yogachara-Madhyamika, so what has been said up to this point is similar to the Mind-Only school. The third has three parts: Establishing self-awareness as devoid of truth; How to meditate upon realizing it; How clinging to it is reversed by meditation. The first is: whatever arises dependently is pervaded by the absence of a true nature. For example, like the appearance of illusory horses and cattle. It is established that the non-dual self-awareness is also dependent origination. The second is: When properly or rationally examined, one meditates with the thought that it is completely free from the nature of being something to be examined as either an existent thing, a non-existent thing, or both or neither. The third is: The yogi who possesses the yoga of realizing that all phenomena are without inherent existence completely abandons the obscurations of knowledge, which are the clinging to the apprehended, the apprehender, and self-awareness. When does one abandon them? When analyzed by reason, it is not suitable as a cause-and-effect phenomenon, so the path of seeing, which is empty of conceptual thoughts such as attachment, in which the mind appears as the nature of illusion, is something that each individual yogi knows for himself in an inexpressible way, as when something is truly born in the continuum. When is it born? It is when the power of meditation is accomplished by meditating in this way, free from the four extremes, that is, when meditation reaches its ultimate limit. The reason for abandoning at that time is that, at that time, for some ordinary beings, just as the perception of the illusion of an image that is empty of one and many appears in a mirror that has been cleaned with jewels and silver, etc., when seeing the true nature,
