The second part of the explanation of the meaning of the signs of non-retrogression is the meaning of the branches, that is, the chapter on the signs of non-retrogression in conjunction with the text is elaborated, and first a general indication is given. The second part has three aspects: a general indication from the perspective of the existence of signs; a detailed explanation of the essence of the signs of existing dharmas; and a summary of the meaning of both signs and sign-bearers. The first part has two aspects, the first aspect being: the sangha of the Shravakas transforms into the four pairs of individuals due to the distinction of abiding in the path and the fruit of the path. The sangha of the Bodhisattvas has three aspects, starting from the decisive factor, that is, starting from the beginning, including the seeing path of forbearance and knowledge and the path of habituation with continuity, those Bodhisattvas who abide in these paths are the community of non-retrogression in this Mahayana, that is, the sangha. The second aspect is: the heroic Bodhisattvas who have conquered the four maras, which will be explained in the three aspects of decisive factors, etc., which are the symbols of non-retrogression, and how they abide by realizing and attaining these symbols, etc. The fourth volume will be explained. The second part is the second part of the meaning of the branches, that is, the chapter on the detailed explanation of the essence of the signs of existing dharmas is elaborated, and first the signs of non-retrogression of the path of accumulation are explained. The second part has two aspects: connection; explanation of meaning. The first aspect is: what are the non-confused and different characteristics of these three individuals? To answer this question, these characteristics will be explained in detail. The second part has three aspects: the signs of non-retrogression of the path of accumulation, the path of seeing, and the path of cultivation. The first part has two aspects: general indication; detailed explanation. The first part has three aspects, the first aspect being: temporarily speaking of characteristics. The second aspect is: showing in the commentary. The third aspect is: from form, etc., up to omniscience, liberation from attachment, and the forms or number of signs such as no doubt, etc., the twenty signs mentioned in the sutra are the decisive factors, etc. The second part has three aspects, the first aspect being: what are the characteristics of liberation, etc.? To answer this question, to show those signs, therefore the six signs are spoken of. Or not only asking about the common signs. The second aspect is: not retrogressing from perfect enlightenment. Where? Abiding in the heat of the Mahayana. Through what? Through those twenty signs. That is also eleven and six

As the two "ga"s (referring to the two texts or authors mentioned earlier) abide in the positions of warmth, peak, forbearance, and supreme dharma, they demonstrate the sign of non-retrogression, just as the sunlight does. The teacher (Asanga) and the *Abhidharmasamuccaya* also act in the same way. Here, in the sutra, the phrase "possessing those forms, signs, and characteristics" appears at the end of each sign, indicating that it is a characteristic based on the opponent's own side, and it belongs to the cause of fully enjoying it. Alternatively, it refers to the special joy of the body, such as goosebumps and tears; the special joy of speech, such as making requests with joy; and the special joy of practice, such as listening, remembering, and reciting. Or, the former explains the latter. The third is: one should know that it is non-retrogressive from complete enlightenment. From where? From the warmth stage to the bodhisattva stage. By what? By these twenty signs of non-retrogression previously explained. How? There are four here. The first is the sign of warmth: one should know from the eleven signs of warmth. The phrase "one should know from warmth" is to be applied to each of the four. Where are they? From form to omniscience, by realizing the lack of inherent existence, turning away from attachment to form and other phenomena, that great bodhisattva turns away from form, and even turns away from unsurpassed complete enlightenment. One should know that the bodhisattva Rabjor (Subhuti) is non-retrogressive. The difference between this and the first sign of the path of seeing is that it turns away from manifest and subtle attachment. Having truly known the qualities of the uncommon Three Refuges, and having gained confident faith, one does not worship other gods, and there is no doubt about the refuge, that is, "one does not rely on other ascetics and Brahmins." Thus. Having known and gained faith, this is stated in the *Abhidharmakosha*: "Having seen the three truths, one holds the precepts; having known the Dharma, one gains faith; having directly realized the path, one also has faith in the Buddha and his Sangha." Thus, after directly realizing the first three truths, having known the Dharma, one gains faith and obtains the precepts pleasing to the noble ones; after directly realizing the path truth, having known the Buddha and the Sangha, one gains faith. Thus, it is said that only noble ones possess it. However, here, placing it on the path of application is because the teacher considers the stage of the path in this context to be the eighth bhumi, or it is an uncommon establishment.
