Thinking that there is no inherent existence, like a dream. In the Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita, it says, if someone, male or female, performs a virtuous or non-virtuous action in a dream, does that action accumulate or nearly accumulate? Etc., this is accumulating with one's own nature. Nearly accumulating means having the ability to produce fruit. The first answer is: The venerable Subhuti said: Shariputra, how did the Blessed One say that all phenomena are like dreams? In that case, there would be no accumulation or decrease from it. Why is that? Because in a dream, no phenomena, whether accumulating or decreasing, can be found. However, if one discriminates after waking up, then there will be accumulation or decrease. It means that because all phenomena are said to be unreal like dreams. Therefore, they believe that there is no increase or decrease in ultimate truth. If it is without inherent existence like a dream, then there is no increase or decrease in its phenomena. In conventional truth, the example is not established, because if one performs an action in a dream and feels happy after waking up, there will be increase or decrease. Therefore, why is the pervasion also not established in conventional truth. These show that the relationship between actions and their results is merely arising from convention in conventional truth. In both the Destroyer of Harm and the Cutter of Obstacles, it says "However, after waking up," etc. Although it is said that Shariputra asked Subhuti, in the Sunlight and Eighty Verses, it is said that Subhuti said it, and it also appears that he said it in the Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita. The second objection is: Subhuti said: Killing during the day and killing in a dream, if one wakes up and thinks like this: I killed, I killed well. Venerable Shariputra, what do you say about that? It means that in the Sunlight it says: "What do you say about that action" means that the nature of truth and untruth is completely inquired, although the antidote is contradictory, but because discrimination will follow, therefore it is argued in this way with the meaning of truly showing it in the ultimate truth. It means that because it was previously nourished by subsequent wisdom, showing that there is increase or decrease in dream actions, so it goes on to say that killing during the day is a real action.
