The idea that all from twenty-one to twenty-five want to fall away from the Saṅgha is not in accordance with any Sūtra commentary or valid cognition. Fourteen and seven, in order, are shown to be related to the former, the listener, and the latter, the speaker, which means that both will become both, so it is to clearly indicate the order. Secondly, if the suffering of the three lower realms, such as hunger, is mentioned, then for the sake of others, one turns away from going to the lower realms, feeling displeased and discouraged; if praise of the gods and mere peace is mentioned, then for one's own sake, one feels happy about going to the happy realms and realizing stream-entry, etc., both of which rely on the practitioner alone. These two are explained below in order to explain the previous similar categories together. Secondly, just as a precious jewel has many enemies, so the practitioner has many obstacles, but the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions always care for and protect them, so the practice will not decline. Just as when a mother with many children becomes ill, all of them will take care of her. To summarize: With four causes, the Bodhisattva, skillful and powerful, is difficult to overcome by the four Māras and cannot be moved, abiding in emptiness, not abandoning the benefit of all sentient beings, acting as spoken, and having the blessings of the Sugata. Thus it is said. The third is the third of the preliminary practices, which is the section explaining the characteristics of knowable objects, elaborating in detail, and first explaining knowledge, characteristics, differences, etc., in general without combining them with the text. The third part has two parts: the general meaning and the branch meaning. The first part has three parts: the distinction between name and referent, how knowing the characteristics is a prerequisite, and indicating its boundaries. The first part has two parts: stating the views of others, and identifying the correct view. The first part has two parts: establishing the view, and refuting that view. The first part has two parts: those who summarize the meaning, and the views of ancient scholars. The first is: Kumārashrīnare (Tibetan: ཀུ་མཱ་ར་ཤྲཱི་ན་རེ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: कुमारश्रीनरे, Sanskrit Romanization: kumāraśrīnare, Chinese literal meaning: Boy Auspicious Person), the characteristic of knowledge is pervasive dharma, the characteristic of action is following, the characteristic of difference is exclusion, and the fourth is inference based on sign. Among these, in one's own continuum, when practice arises, knowledge is the knower, it is called the three knowledges, and in the continuum of others, when it is determined, it is called the great person.

The sixteen moments based on the truths, etc., possess the previously mentioned three aspects of omniscience, and the realization of those aspects represents union. This is the meaning of the knowledge characteristic. In general, when the three omnisciences arise purely in the sixteen moments based on the four truths, they represent union in a special way, which is the meaning of the special characteristic. Therefore, because the difference of action without incomplete causes transforms in the second moment, action represents union, which is the meaning of the action characteristic, where the second moment of the special characteristic transforms into the difference of action with all causes complete. If there is a difference in action, then because the difference in result is accomplished, it also represents union. This explains the meaning of the characteristic of self-nature, where the difference in action or action is the cause, represented by the differentiated result, but it does not explain how it is represented. The second is that previous scholars believed that these characteristics do not represent the unaccomplished union, but rather represent some of its potential qualities as what is represented, and some as characteristics. Therefore, they establish twenty or five unions as the basis of characteristics, giving rise to the Buddha or showing the world to him. Therefore, the arising of what is represented and its realization of the three knowledges should be taken as characteristics. Therefore, the sixteen knowledges are said to be the characteristics of the three categories because they are considered to be the characteristics of arising, so the name of the action dharma is given to the made dharma. That is, the Sutra says: 'This mother gives rise to the ten powers of the Tathagata, and based on this, she knows the world is indestructible, so this mother gives rise to the Tathagata and shows the world to the Tathagata.' Therefore, the mother is the union, that is, the basis of the characteristic. Giving rise to the Tathagata and showing it to him is what is represented. Giving rise to the ten powers and knowing that the world is indestructible based on this is the characteristic. Because the Tathagata is mentioned, it is believed that this knowledge is the place of becoming a Buddha. The representation of the latter three characteristics will be explained in the context of our own system. The second is the first view.
