This was said in order to understand whether or not one is completely endowed with or lacking the two unapprehended ones. The method of the inner virtuous friend, which completely grasps one with compassion and the wisdom that realizes emptiness, so that one does not fall into samsara and nirvana, is that in the bodhisattva vehicle, one is completely grasped by the Mother, completely grasped by skillful means, so that one does not fall into the Hearer's stage or the Solitary Realizer's stage. Like the analogy of an old man dancing relying on or not relying on a strong man, it was said to show that the two, grasping and not grasping with skillful means and wisdom, do not fall into samsara and nirvana, and the reasons for falling into samsara and nirvana. Realizing that all dharmas are without self-nature, therefore not tasting the flavor of clinging to reality in the manner of holding them as supreme and desiring them, and dedicating the roots of virtue to enlightenment, is: Son of the lineage, when you enjoy the Mother, do not generate desire for form. Etc. The so-called "self-nature" refers to the end of each one. The third is: Here, since the path of Hearers and Solitary Realizers is not shown to be separate from the sixteen distinctions, does one not understand that the path of seeing of the Great Vehicle is more superior to them? The reason for not saying so is: for the sake of easy understanding. That is, the path of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, with the distinctions as previously stated and the absence of clinging to reality, and so forth, is understood by the power of the nature of arising until the inconceivable is not realized, that is, the path of seeing of the Great Vehicle, because there is no clinging to reality, directly shows that it surpasses the Lesser Vehicle path from the perspective of the distinctions between realizing the inconceivable, etc., therefore. The old translation says that there are superknowledges, etc. The lineage giver also says that the path of Hearers, etc., from meditative equipoise, arises superknowledges such as the divine eye, arises the nature of one-sided knowledge, and from within arises freedom from attachment, etc., because it is easy to understand, and because it is widely known in the sutras and the conduct of bodhisattvas, it was not said, so it is thought, and it is clearly stated in some Chinese versions as well. However, that is a textual error, because clinging to reality is the opposite of the later distinctions, therefore it is reasonable to show separation from them sequentially from below, because it is the occasion for showing the absence of the distinctions just mentioned. The third is the third of the extensive explanation from the perspective of classification, that is, explaining the chapter on the eleven characteristics of action. Total

There are three points on the garland: The first is: To distinguish the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas from the superior position by means of special characteristics, that is, what is the action of accomplishing the benefit of others for the known practices? In response, the characteristics of the action are explained with two transitional words. The second is: The nature of each action is explained with seven verses, and finally the meaning is summarized to show the way of representation. Among them, "people" refers to the main object to be tamed, so it is symbolized by it, and for the beings to be tamed, "for" is added before everything, and "accomplish" is added after everything. Among these actions, the first eight are common, and the last three, the Great Lord believes, are the actions of the three wisdoms such as basic wisdom. However, the previous scholars believed that the first nine were basic wisdom, and the last two were the actions of the path wisdom and the omniscient wisdom, which is like understanding the intention of sunlight as decorative light, which is very good. The reason why this commentary appears to be inconsistent with these is: The action of counteracting basic wisdom should not be separated from path wisdom, and considering that it is impossible to accomplish from the first three with only the transformation of basic wisdom, so it is said. The third point is: It is the definition of action. Where is it? In the eleven actions. The reason is: With the form of actions such as beneficiaries, that is, eleven differences, it symbolizes or knows that the actions of the self-cause three wisdoms have the ability to generate the difference of benefiting others. The way of representation is: In the three practices, the state in which eleven abilities exist as they are. How does it become eleven? The actions of basic wisdom, path wisdom, and omniscient wisdom are three, seven, and one respectively, that's how it is. Where are these? There are three points here, the first point is that there are three actions of benefit, happiness, and protection, mainly based on the nature of complete knowledge. What is that? For the beings to be tamed, in order to accomplish the future benefit, that is, the possible suffering of the next life, the Nirvana of tranquility, in terms of its meaning, it is the first point. The Great Bodhisattvas completely liberate beings from the five paths of reincarnation and place them in the fearless, peaceful, and happy Nirvana. It is said so. That is to say, relying on the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas as the support, relying on the practice of basic wisdom, for the object to be tamed, accomplishing things, benefits, etc., in accordance with the occasion.
