It probably has other meanings, and the two, knower and knowable, are the fruit representing the cause. For example, just as a crow represents a building, it is only understood through it. The great scholars of the snowy land also agree that the fruit represents the cause, which is the view of the root commentary. Some great translators believe that there is no difference between the name and what is represented, and the Sanskrit terms are also the same. Therefore, it is unreasonable for Tibetans to separate the two when explaining, they say that it is the same in all the great treatises, so it is better not to add the term "name" to things that are related to what is represented. The second aspect has two types: the meaning of "doer" and "done," and the uncommon way of representing. The first is, for example, the word "cook," what to cook and with what to cook, are words related to the doer and the done, so it can be extended to both. Similarly, the definition also considers the relationship between what is used to represent and what is represented, the doer and the done. Je Tsongkhapa believed that the first three are what can be represented, and the last is what is represented. For the doer and the done, the teacher used the terms "doer" and "done." Therefore, like the sign and what is to be proven, the knower and the knowable. Like an axe and a tree, the cutter and what is cut, the container and the contained, the cognizer and what is cognized, etc., are all established as the doer and the done, so it is boundless. The second is, why are the first three definitions called "doer"? Because these three represent the union. How are they represented? The two knowers, which can be represented, sequentially represent the realization of the three wisdoms for oneself on top of the union of the three wisdoms, and the power to generate activities for others. Therefore, these two powers are the name or what is represented. The way of representing is, in agriculture, when a good harvest is seen, it is known that it has the power to produce a good harvest. When it is seen that the realization of the three wisdoms and the special behavior of benefiting others arise from the union, it is inferred that the union has the power to produce these. These two represent the general possession of power, so they represent non-existence or non-existence. If it is thought that the union of Hearers and Solitary Realizers also has it, then the special sign indicates that only it has it.

Because it makes one understand what others do not have, it is shown as excluding others who possess it. Therefore, through the combination of sixteen distinctions possessing essence, fruit, or cause, it is known that the Tathagata arises. Thus, although the first three represent ability, there are three different ways of representing it. Why is the last one called "action accomplishment"? Because this is the nature of the combination of the three wisdoms, it should be represented by the first three. If it is not representing ability, then how is combination the object to be represented? Because these two are not different in entity, there is no fault, because these are not characteristics of separate establishments of name, object represented, and nature. If this is the object to be represented, then how can it be suitable as a characteristic? Haven't you said that the term "characteristic" is related to both the agent and the object? Moreover, the sixteen natures make one understand the nature of the combination of the three wisdoms, so it is also the representer. Then, isn't it the agent of accomplishment? There is no fault, although combination is the object to be represented, it is not represented through different meanings, so it is not established as the agent of accomplishment, and the first three are the opposite of that, so they are established as the agent of accomplishment. Then, since the basis of those names and the entity are different, they cannot be name and object represented, otherwise the pot would also excessively become the nature of the ox. Although the natures are different, what is understood through those aspects is merely designated as the characteristic of "representing by this," so it has already been said that it is not a characteristic of separate establishments. Thus, since the meaning of action and deed and the ways of representing are not explained in detail in the commentaries on the Ornament, it seems difficult to understand, so I have explained it in detail and made it profound, so may the intelligent ones be pleased! Secondly, if a Mahayana lineage individual is certain to seek unsurpassed enlightenment, then its cause is entering the mother yoga, and at that time it is necessary to examine whether he has the ability to generate ultimate realization, therefore this is the knowing aspect. Moreover, if the ability to generate ultimate benefit for others does not appear to him, then mere realization is not the main goal to be sought by the Mahayana, therefore understanding this is the doing aspect. If these two abilities are also present on the path of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, then it would prevent entering the Mahayana path that requires enduring many difficulties, therefore understanding the absence of these is the differentiating aspect, and the combination
