It is finished. Secondly, there are fourteen aspects of merit. What are they? They are between the merit that is certainly attained by subduing the power of demons and so on. Although the names of thirteen of them do not appear in the root text, the noble ones extracted the meaning from the sutras and gave them names, and the commentators followed suit. On which path are these found? Kumarashri thinks that from the four preparatory paths onwards, they are established on the ten bhumis, and there is no doubt that he only knows the arrangement of the number fourteen. However, the Clear Words says, "These merits are possessed from the stage of the first practitioner onwards, but the perfect attainment should be combined with the attainment of warmth." Thus, it is promised. Some people think that faults are the cause of not generating application, so they think that these merits are the cause of generating application, which is unreasonable, as the Sunlight Treatise says, "The benefits of application have already been explained." Therefore, the teacher also thinks that there is benefit, because it is its fruit. Therefore, it is neither ability nor the one with ability. Thirdly, the way the commentary explains it is that in all other versions it is written as "Secondly," but it has not been carefully studied. If you arrange the context, it is clear that it is third. Thirdly, the merits of application that should be practiced accordingly, there are fourteen of them. Some people think that the first, second, third, fourth, and thirteenth two are no different, so they think that it is unreasonable to bless the types of cause and effect, and they think that the meaning of the name and the former are the person and the latter is the reversal of the fruit of the application. Some people think that the former is the fruit and the latter is the cause, so they divide the merits of cause and effect into fourteen, both of which are unreasonable. Because the latter fourteen say that they are very happy with the application, which is the reversal of the fruit of the person, and like the first two, it is not the meaning of the name, and like the fourth, the situation where the meaning of the name is reversed also exists. And, in the commentary, only the merit is added to the end of the first fourteen, and if the following are also made into merit, then the merit is not necessarily fourteen, and if you think so, then the application twenty etc. are also not necessarily too extreme. Therefore, the first fourteen are to be counted as the merits of application, and the reason why the benefits of application are divided into these is because of blessing the practitioner of application and so on.

It is said that these fourteen qualities arise. That is to say, these arise and are attained because of great joy in the practice that is not inverted. Just as those who keep vows receive the benefits of higher realms and definite goodness, these two also become additional benefits of the vows. Thus, in the Ornament of Clear Realization, it is also said that by obtaining the lower ones, the qualities of the higher ones arise and are possessed, and this should also be understood in the same way. What are these fourteen? The first quality is destroying the power of the demons that hinder practice. For those who ask, teach, hold, read, recite, properly contemplate, and meditate on this profound Prajnaparamita, the evil demons will not be able to create obstacles through the power of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Why is that? Shariputra, in the immeasurable and countless realms of the ten directions, as many Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones reside and teach, all those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, pay attention to those who ask, and meditate on this profound Prajnaparamita, this is the nature of Dharma. So it is said. The second quality is that the Buddhas pay attention and know for the sake of making the practice more special. The third quality is that the Buddhas manifest themselves for the sake of the previous benefit. These three are the small, medium, and large manifestations of the power of practice, like breaking the enemy's weapons, persuading relatives, and handing weapons to them to inspire courage. The fourth quality is being close to attaining perfect and complete enlightenment. The fifth quality is the great meaning of not being separated from the Buddha, and the great benefit of being born in happy realms, the great fruit of attaining enlightenment, and the great maturation of continuing to benefit others even after Nirvana. The sixth quality is asking about Prajnaparamita etc. in places like Bartani (Bārtanī), where the flourishing of Prajnaparamita is examined. Here, the commentator, starting from explaining the sixth quality of practice, examines in detail the regions where Prajnaparamita flourished after the Tathagata's passing, and the meaning of "the last five hundred years." Here, the sutra says that after the Tathagata's passing, this Prajnaparamita will spread to the south, and then to the region of Bartani (Bārtanī).
