These are also considered approximate summaries of the paths. Thus, the first three arise for the benefit of others, and then the five are actions for the benefit of others, seeing one's own benefit, and the liberation of being in a state of ease, which are eight. The fourth is the fourth explained separately, which is the explanation of the nine forms of the transcendental path. The fourth is that there are nine transcendental paths. That is, from the four dhyanas to the cessation attainment, there are nine in total. This is also a form dependent on the knowledge of the path, so it should be upheld in the continuum of the Bodhisattva. On this, the "Nyi Nang" says, "Cessation attainment is obtained by the transcendental path." Having said this, it does not explain the reason why others are considered transcendental. On this, some explain that some of these eight abide in the nature of the transcendental path, and some act as its support, so it is said. The "Sherdron" says that the four dhyanas are both the path of seeing and the path of meditation, the four formless absorptions are the support of the path of meditation, and cessation is entered and exited by the transcendental mind itself, and it also manifests it, so explaining it as the transcendental path is the explanation of Jowo Je (Byang Ye) and others. The "Tok Kar" says, "The transcendental path is the nine methods." It says so. Although explained in this way, the intention is that although the manifesters believe that there is no uncontaminated at the peak of existence, this teacher believes in uncontaminated, so the uncontaminated part of these eight is the nature of the transcendental path, so it is established there, and cessation attainment must be obtained by the transcendental path, so that is what is thought. Here, it is derived from the discussion of whether the ninth cessation attainment of the transcendental path is the path, and the scope of cessation attainment is defined. Here, there are seven aspects to defining the scope of cessation attainment: by whom it is entered, relying on what mind, relying on what attention, what object is eliminated, nature, time, and in which realm it is entered. The first aspect is that, according to the Hinayana view, the "Compendium of Matters" says, "On this, the learner who does not return manifests with the body, and the non-learner who is liberated from both also enters." Just like that, while the Mahayana can enter from the path of seeing. Ordinary beings and stream-enterers are liberated by wisdom.

Others cannot enter, because to enter this state, one must cease afflictive emotions and mind, and must attain the samadhi of the peak of existence. For the initial state, there is no beginning, and for the remaining states, there is no end. If the "Ten Bhumi Sutra" says: 'Oh, sons of the Buddha! Bodhisattvas from the sixth bhumi onwards enter the cessation of bodhisattvas. Bodhisattvas abiding in the seventh bhumi enter and arise from cessation moment by moment, and directly realize cessation.' This is not correct, because it is considered that cessation occurs in the dharmadhatu that is free from all elaboration, so the names are the same but the meanings are different. Second, the samadhi of the peak of existence is very subtle, and if one abides in it, it is easy to cease the continuum of mind and mental factors, so the Abhidharma masters believe that one should rely on it. As the "Abhidharmakosha" says: 'At the end of the subtle and subtle.' However, the "Prajnaparamita Sutra" says to rely on the samadhi of the ninth bhumi, so the former should be considered as the time of initial practice. Third, because one sees that the gross continuum of feeling, perception, etc., is not tranquil, one ceases them with the previous attention of tranquility. Bodhisattvas cultivate the power of samadhi for the benefit of others. Fourth, cease the six consciousnesses and the afflictive mind, these seven and their retinues. If the afflictive mind is not ceased here, then there is no difference between the non-perceptual samadhi and this (cessation samadhi) in terms of tranquility and non-tranquility. This is also the case only in the desire realm, because in the two upper realms, there are no nose and tongue consciousnesses and five consciousnesses respectively, so cease the five consciousnesses and the two consciousnesses. It is unreasonable for the Hinayana to say that the six consciousnesses are not ceased, because the "Compendium of Abhidharma" says: 'After explaining the basis of the one who enters samadhi, it is said that the afflictive mind and its retinue are ceased.' Therefore, the two Hinayana schools believe that they do not wish to cease the six consciousnesses, so they think that only these are ceased, but when Hinayana saints enter this state, it is not that they do not cease the afflictive mind. This is also not distinguishing between the reality of things themselves and the difference established by intention. At that time, there is also the alaya consciousness, so it is with consciousness, as the "Compendium of Abhidharma" says: 'The consciousness of entering samadhi is only temporarily ceased, but the alaya consciousness is not temporarily ceased.' So it is said. The fifth point is divided into two parts, namely the view.
