The special feature is that one obtains the first liberation. The way to view is to regard oneself as the four names of non-material space and then view. Why is it called non-material? Because one regards oneself as the four names or space, thereby destroying the attachment to material form. So, what is the difference between these two, one establishing attachment to material form and the other not establishing it? I think that when performing emanation, the emanator appears, and then it is made to disappear, this is for the sake of the emanation itself. The third is that the door refers to the remainder. Among these four aspects, the person is the same as before, but the special feature is that one obtains the first two liberations. The ground is the same as before, that is, one physically experiences and cultivates the liberation that is more repulsive than the ground, so how does one abide? Like this, some people attain equanimity and completely purified mindfulness. They rely on it to cultivate the repulsive. And, as stated in the Treasury of Knowledge: The third is the end, these two have the same meaning. The necessity is: to be happy with beautiful forms, to like emanation, thereby generating the intention to strive; to be unhappy with unattractive forms, to dislike emanation, thereby generating the intention not to strive, this is the antidote to those afflictions. The happiness and unhappiness here should be understood as stated, not taken literally, because here one has attained the fourth dhyana. How can one rely on the three concepts of mutual dependence, mutual connection, and mutual sameness of taste? The first of these is, like the three vases of gold, silver, and copper, for the three forms of beautiful, unattractive, and intermediate, the silver vase is beautiful relative to the copper vase, and unattractive relative to the gold vase, by cultivating in this way, one can eliminate the attachment to unrelated beauty and unattractiveness. The second is, being unattractive relative to the gold vase and beautiful relative to the copper vase, these two are cultivated in relation to the silver vase, one can eliminate the attachment to the distinction between beauty and unattractiveness. The third is, by cultivating as in the previous two, relying on this cultivation, for all beautiful and unattractive things, one can ultimately reach a state of non-discriminating attachment, all things become beautiful, or become the form of wanting to emanate, thereby attaining the concept of the same taste, this is the time of accomplishment. Such a repulsive liberation is both a liberation and a door, therefore, its door is the method of emanation, that is, the wisdom of

Manifested by..., that is, arising in the continuum and perfecting, therefore the noble ones abide many times. This and the liberation of cessation manifest and abide, why do others not manifest? Because these two abandon the obscurations of form and formlessness, and fully manifest the transformation of abiding. It is also explained as being the main one, and as abiding at the edge of the realm and the ground. Why are three liberations established on the path of emanation? If one does not consider the uncertainty of size and goodness, then one cannot emanate into another, therefore for the first two, although one obtains the uncertain faith in them, if one does not prevent holding the lovable and unlovable as one side, then one does not want to emanate the unlovable, and if one does not emanate it, then the emanation is not complete, therefore one must practice the third one. The third one is the third one that is spoken of separately, that is, explaining the aspect of the five paths of abiding in bliss in the present dharma. In what does one enter into samadhi? In the dharma of seeing, abiding in bliss in this life, that is, in the path that benefits body and mind, there are five aspects. The constant reason is, the four aspects of the formless liberation and one liberation of cessation, thus... What are those? Here there are two, the first liberation Nirvana and, the nature of the path of abiding in accordance with the separation of co-emergent manifestation, there are four actualities of formless samadhi, that is the formless liberation, and it is also practiced in order to cut off the craving for tasting the taste in the formless realm, so as not to be mixed with it. Secondly, the nature of the path of abiding in the near pacification of attachment etc. or mind and mental factors, because it is the main object to be abandoned, therefore there is one liberation of cessation of perception and feeling, which is manifested in order to be liberated from the obscuration of cessation of perception and feeling. What is the difference between the four formless ones and the samadhi and liberation of cessation? Because the great elements of the body or the objects of mind and mental factors are made equal, therefore it is samadhi, from the co-emergent of one's own ground liberation and from the aspect of not mixing with it, it is established as liberation. The Treasury is, the meaning of liberation is turning away from the lower ground, therefore the paths of immediate proximity etc. are not liberation, the number of liberations
