At that time. What is it? It is that which possesses the merits of this life, such as non-retrogression, and the merits of future lives, such as remembering past lives. What does it correspond to? It corresponds to the two moments of forbearance and the two moments of wisdom, a total of four, each corresponding to the four truths of suffering, etc., that is, each is related to the object and the subject. Where are the four moments? They are in the knowledge of the Dharma, etc. What is the method? It is to realize through the gate of non-attachment. The second is divided into three. The first: How should these sixteen be cultivated in terms of the method of cultivation? It is said in response to this question. The second: These are the sixteen moments of the path of seeing of the wisdom of the path itself. What are they? The four moments of suffering, implied by showing the aspect of what is to be realized, are from Suchness to Immeasurable. In Suchness, the Tathagata is not apprehended. In the Tathagata, Suchness is not apprehended. It is said, "Because of the greatness of form, the Paramita of the Great Bodhisattvas is also great." It is also said, "Because of the immeasurability of form, the Paramita of the Great Bodhisattvas is also immeasurable." It is also said, "Because of the boundlessness of form, the Paramita of the Great Bodhisattvas is also boundless." Among them, "measure" is said by Shantideva and Abhaya to be that which cannot be counted. However, the Sun Essence says, "Measure refers to the form based on the ultimate of the subtle particles. Non-form phenomena do not have the nature of measure." Also, the Ornament of Realization says, "For those with form, the form of the subtle particles is the measure; for those without form, the nature is the measure." Although there are differences, the former translation is better. Measure is volume, and those without a body do not have it. Regarding the measure of those with form, it is also said in the Abhidharma that subtle particles have no form, so the measure based on them is form, although it is said in this way, it refers to the space occupied by one's own body. The four moments of origin, shown by the four aspects of what is to be realized, benefit, and preventing falling into the extremes of samsara and nirvana, are from Boundless to Loving-kindness, etc. It is said, "Because of the boundlessness of form, the Paramita of the Great Bodhisattvas is also boundless." Also, the Blessed One...

Moreover, the earth deity also said, "Whichever great bodhisattva's mother does not depart from this (Prajnaparamita) Bhagavati, should be regarded as the Tathagata himself." It also said, "This mother of the great bodhisattvas is of a nature that neither takes nor abandons form." It also said, "Those sons or daughters of good family should cultivate loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity intensely towards all sentient beings, in a manner that does not fixate on anything." And so on. The statement, "Regarding form and so forth that abide therein, one should ascertain them as the Buddha himself," if interpreted according to the literal meaning of the sutra, indicates that the aggregates of a bodhisattva who understands the dharma of not fixating on form and so forth, and who abides therein, possess the benefit of being able to be regarded as the Buddha by others. And the word "form and so forth" in Grags's statement should be applied to the stem of the word in its entirety. It means that one intends to include all the objects of cognition mentioned above. The reason why the eighth moment speaks of cultivating loving-kindness and so forth is that here, one fully recognizes the faults of all suffering, and in the ninth moment, upon seeing the qualities of cessation, one abandons benefiting others while remaining in samsara and turns towards peace, and this is to counteract that. The four moments of cessation, which are taught in terms of the benefits of the object of cognition and the attainment of the fruit, as well as the function of gathering antidotes and the benefits of eliminating inner and outer harms, extend from emptiness to the elimination of all diseases. That is, "Those sons or daughters of good family should cultivate intensely, in a manner that does not fixate on inner emptiness," and like that, connecting it with emptiness, which is the nature of non-inherent existence, it is said to be the cause of not becoming fearful or rigid when inquiring about the Bhagavati and so forth. Among these, fear is the apprehension of unwanted things befalling one, and rigidity is not seeking a means to eliminate them. Śānti omitted "pervading emptiness" and considered it to be the realization of the sixteen emptinesses. "Holding this great bodhisattva Bhagavati," from here on, those who properly direct their minds towards it will fully possess these qualities in this dharma that they have seen, and will fully ripen sentient beings, and will fully purify the Buddha-fields. It also says, "If one fully holds the profound Bhagavati, then one will fully hold all six perfections, namely, the perfection of generosity, and so forth.
