It creates, so it is said. The reason why the path of meditation accomplishes great things is that it accomplishes the meaning to be obtained or the great fruit, which is Buddhahood. This mother is the great Paramita. So it is said. The second has two, the cause of purity and the essence of purity. The first has three, the first is, under the practice of that path of meditation, the characteristic of the second extremely pure without leakage is declared. How is it that the pure path of meditation that can be obtained by completely taking what favorable conditions and abandoning what unfavorable conditions, the cause of this birth and the cause of non-birth, is the elimination of doubt, in a way that is sent in advance. The connection of the sutra is, from where does the faith in this profound mother arise here? From how much does it enter into perfect enlightenment? From how much do you serve the Tathagatas? From how much do you practice the six perfections? Thus, it is said in the answer to the question of Shariputra to the Buddha. The second is that the root of the path of meditation and the path of seeing beyond the world is faith, and its cause is relying on the Buddha, etc., from the pure one. The third has two, the cause of birth and the cause of non-birth. The first is that the cause of the birth of the pure path of meditation is pure. Where? The first of the three is to please countless Buddhas by serving them for a long time, that is, the Great Bodhisattva is the Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha of the ten directions of the world, after serving immeasurable and countless Buddhas, came here and was born, so it is said. The second is to perfect the Paramitas such as giving, that is, the Great Bodhisattva from countless hundreds of thousands of billions of kalpas is truly in harmony with the supreme perfect enlightenment, that is, from the first arising of the mind, he practices the Paramita of giving. So it is said. The third is to be skilled in meditating on the peaceful abode of detachment from elaboration, realizing the non-objectification when practicing the six perfections, that is, the Great Bodhisattva, from the first arising of the mind, takes it close and strives for this profound mother in a non-objective way. So it is said. The second is that the cause of lacking the Mahayana Dharma or the cause of the non-birth of the pure path of meditation is pure. Where? The first of the four

That is to say, previously, because one had not accumulated virtuous roots, one was oppressed by the demons, that is, harmed by the demons and subjected to their control. The second is that because one has not trained in the Mahayana lineage, one does not believe in the profound Dharma that is free from elaboration. The third is that because one is not accustomed to the meaning of selflessness in the Dharma, one grasps the aggregates, etc., as real, that is, attachment. The fourth is that because one has not become familiar with virtuous friends, one associates with evil friends and is subjected to their control, that is, those foolish people will be blessed by demons, and they will have no faith or belief in the profound Dharmas, and they will become attached to the aggregates, etc., and they will fall into the hands of evil friends, and therefore they will become people with hateful behavior, praising themselves and disparaging others. If one possesses these four conditions, then these foolish people will abandon this profound Mother Prajnaparamita Sutra. Thus it is said. These are the intentions stated in the sutras only with regard to the favorable and unfavorable conditions for the Prajnaparamita Sutra, which are applied to the path of meditation by the treatises. Moreover, just as the noble ones and the teachers both consider it to be pure. It can be known in order. The reason for applying it in this way is that because this purity is more important than other paths and the Prajnaparamita Sutra of the scriptures, it is regarded as the main cause. Shantideva considers that practice is the fifth and sixth of the branches of the path of meditation, the cause of faith is the seventh, and the cause of abandonment is the seven branches of practice, this treatise is practice, cutting off the path of meditation upwards. Secondly, it is divided into two: a general presentation of purity, and a separate explanation. First, divided into three, the first is that after the above has stated the cause of obtaining such favorable conditions and the cause of not obtaining such unfavorable conditions, after that, it comes to the nature of purity that should be spoken about. How is it? In general, that is, without distinguishing the purity of the noble ones, it is shown. Here, it is not considered that the naturally pure and the subsequently stated freedom from defilement are the general and different meanings, because here also the freedom from defilement is shown. The second is that the purity of the result is the purity from form, etc., up to omniscience. What is the reason? Because the purity of the result and form, etc., are not different entities, and they are indivisible. Therefore, in short, form, etc.
