If the Shravakas are different from the path, then how are the Pratyekabuddhas more superior to them? This is to dispel such doubts. The sutra connection is: In the path of application, it is said that abiding in the Dharma and not abiding in the Dharma, and being separated from (both), is abiding in the Mother Buddha. At that time, among the retinue, some gods were able to understand the language of the Yakshas, etc., but thought that what Manjushri said about abiding in the Mother Buddha was not like that. Knowing their thoughts, (the Buddha) said these words. The second is: The self-born Pratyekabuddhas, in their last existence, do not rely on others, but realize Bodhi themselves, so they do not need to be taught by others. That is: Then, some of the gods in that retinue thought like this: Whatever is the language of the Yakshas, etc., and whatever is spoken by the Yakshas, if it is spoken, it can be understood, but what the venerable Manjushri says about the Mother Buddha, and the exposition, narration, instruction, and approximate instruction, cannot be understood. Then, the venerable Manjushri, knowing the thoughts of those gods with his mind, said to those gods: Gods, is what is said not understandable? The gods said: Venerable Manjushri, it is not understandable. Manjushri said: Gods, in this way, not even a single word is spoken, and whatever is not spoken cannot be heard. Whatever cannot be heard cannot be known. That's what he said. In this regard, not understanding the meaning of what Manjushri approximately instructed is profound wisdom. Not even a single word is spoken, that is profound non-speaking. That's what he said. Its meaning is that in equipoise, realizing the meaning that is not the object of speech is profound wisdom, and one does not need others to instruct oneself. In subsequent attainment, others cannot realize it from the signs of the fruit of speech, that is profound non-speaking. What is summarized by the root word "also" is that one does not need to instruct others oneself. As it is said, the later profoundness includes the former profoundness, but the former profoundness does not include the later profoundness. Because of possessing these two profoundnesses, the wisdom of the Pratyekabuddha, like a rhinoceros horn, is profound. Alas, venerable Manjushri, this is to clarify the Mother Buddha, it is an exposition that is even more profound than profound.

It is said that it shows that it is even more subtle than the finest dust. In this regard, profound means the wisdom of the Hearer who understands the sixteen aspects of the four truths from the words of others. More profound than that is the wisdom of the Solitary Realizer, which is distinguished only by the cause of one's own realization. Subtle means that the fruit of merely abandoning the afflictive obscurations is the knowledge of the Hearer. More subtle than that is the wisdom of the Solitary Realizer, which is superior by abandoning the obscurations of knowledge and the conceptualization of grasping. In the Eight Thousand, it also says that it is even more distant than distant, in which case distant means that it is not the realm of the heretics, which is the knowledge of the Hearer. More distant means that it is not the realm of the Hearer, which is the wisdom of the Solitary Realizer. Both the Twenty Thousand and the Eighteen Thousand do not need to be taught, and by combining the two Sutras of Profound Wisdom, according to that, the last two lines are explained as Profound Wisdom, and the first two are explained as having the meaning of not needing to be taught. In particular, from the Twenty Thousand, before the Sutra of Profound Wisdom, the verses such as "Whatever, whatever" are taken and explained. According to this explanation, the first two lines indicate that one does not need to be taught by others, and the last two indicate that one's own teaching does not depend on words. Some say that profound itself also applies to the former, but if it is in accordance with the Ornament of Realization, it is reasonable to apply it to the latter. In the Lamp of Wisdom, it is said that the root "also" distinguishes and casts aside the latter difference, and explains both profound. There are two aspects to the third, namely the difference between the path and the teaching. The first aspect is that the Solitary Realizer is superior to the Hearer in one respect, which is the first point. Where? The Solitary Realizers are those who are at the end of existence, and for them, the manifestation of enlightenment, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Hearers do not need to be taught, that is to say. The reason is that the Solitary Buddhas, at the time of the end of existence, do not need the teachings of other teachers, but they themselves will manifest and realize the enlightenment that they should attain, therefore. The reason for such a transformation is that in the past, for hundreds of great kalpas, the power of accumulating and increasing the roots of virtue, such as hearing focused on the Hearer's Vinaya Pitaka, and thinking and aspiration, etc., is manifested. The manifestation of enlightenment does not require the teaching of a teacher, so it is superior to the Hearer, how
