etc., but the specifics were not clearly explained, so the commentary has supplemented and clarified them. The second part has two aspects: the general and the specific meanings. The first part has seven aspects: reasoning, the path, actual accomplishment, accumulating merit, abiding, conduct, and explaining the meaning of words. The first point is: possessing three characteristics. First, by nature, having few afflictions, therefore, his mind does not like commotion and enjoys solitude. Second, because of having little compassion, therefore, his mind does not engage in teaching the Dharma and benefiting sentient beings, and his mind abides in small activities. Third, having middling faculties and behaving with arrogance, therefore, he desires to attain enlightenment without a teacher and without rivals. Although the lamas apply this characteristic only to those who practice alone like a rhinoceros horn, it is not clearly stated in the "Reality of the Ground," and the path and accomplishment are also divided into three aspects, commonly speaking of those who are like rhinoceros horns and those who practice in groups. For the two aspects of abiding and conduct, different characteristics are explained separately. Therefore, it is clear in the common classification. However, the enjoyment of solitude is abandoned by group practice. The second point is: how does that person learn the path? Regarding the path, there are also three. The first path is: abiding in the lineage of a Pratyekabuddha, pleasing the Buddhas for a hundred eons, thereby ripening one's own continuum into self-enlightenment, and in order to attain one's own enlightenment later, one must become proficient in the six things that should be mastered, namely: the aggregates, the sense bases, the elements, dependent origination, what is and is not possible, and the truths. This is the path of the rhinoceros horn. Regarding this, some people think that one should focus on the Vinaya Pitaka of the Shravakas, listening and contemplating for a hundred eons, and knowing that one still needs to take birth, then one should study the previous path, and at the time of death, be reborn in a pure land without Buddhas and Shravakas, and there, without relying on others, but relying on the wisdom one has obtained, one should traverse the path, and when attaining enlightenment, also make three aspirations: may I, without words, use my body to lovingly care for those to be tamed. After death and rebirth, in an empty pure land, be reborn as a man of the three continents, not a commoner, but naturally
