Because I have included all omniscience. Thus, initially generating the mind of enlightenment and ultimately dedicating it to accomplish all omniscience, therefore, during the main practice, one understands without focusing, thereby entering the practice of the path of knowledge. Understanding the twenty-nine aspects is the teaching of the path of the Hearers. Therefore, generally, although Bodhisattvas have the aspect of understanding the sixteen aspects such as impermanence, here, not focusing on impermanence etc., is the aspect of the selflessness of phenomena, hence it is for Bodhisattvas; focusing on impermanence etc., is the aspect of the selflessness of persons, hence it is for Hearers. Some people here deny the path of the Hearers' own continuum, saying that what is shown is the path of the Hearers' object of focus, which is like coaxing a child. If what is taught is not the path of the Hearers, then the intention to show that path is flawed; if it is, then it will become the path of the Hearers' own continuum. If, when a Bodhisattva understands the sixteen aspects such as impermanence, it is called the path of the Hearers, then one must also discern whether this is reasonable, otherwise it will collapse. If one considers this to be the path of the Hearers, then one must also consider it to be the path of preparation, and if so, it contradicts what is said to be the aspect of the selflessness of phenomena. It is not contradictory, because it is said to be characterized by the object of focus of truth, so this and the object of focus are the same. Showing it as the aspect of the selflessness of phenomena is summarized from the words of the sutras. That must also be explained from the perspective of the selflessness of persons, because it is spoken in terms of the cause of the Hearers' noble path. For example, like the sutra "That is from the door of focusing on signs," and in the context of the basis of the independent path, when Bodhisattvas abandon and accept this mother (Prajnaparamita), showing the non-retrogression of Bodhisattvas etc., needs to be connected with Hearers and Solitary Realizers. Alternatively, the four aspects taught by the root text should be understood as the aspects by which Bodhisattvas know the path of preparation of the Hearers. The third part has two: the path to be known, and the way to know it. The first part has two: the aspects of the two truths of defilement and purification. The first part has two: the individual and common aspects. The first part has two: the aspects of suffering and origin. The first part is: it is necessary to show the aspects of the four truths, among which the first four aspects of the truth of suffering are the order spoken in the sutra.

It should be declared as such. These also apply to the following. What are they? Impermanent because of arising and ceasing, suffering because it is tainted and does not accord with the noble ones or appears in a form that is not pleasing to them, selfless because it is empty of a self of other meaning, and selfless because it is the nature of selflessness that has become the essence, that is, the aspect of self-nature being peaceful, thus there are four. Here, the phrase in the scripture "emptiness and selflessness, and the four aspects of their nature being peaceful" is incorrect, because it does not agree with the two great commentaries and any of the sutras. Therefore, it should be understood as translated in the 'Torch of Definitive Meaning' as "the selflessness of the nature of emptiness and the aspect of its nature being peaceful." Thus, selflessness and peace are two synonyms for emptiness and selflessness. Shantideva said: The last two are explained as being without self and what belongs to self, but from the Abhidharma onwards, the former is explained. Why does selflessness not act as an aspect of the essence? If the sutra says that there are four, then it is so, but it is intended to be based on the explanation of there being three. The second is: Among the four aspects of the essence of the truth of the origin, the first is: because it is the essence of the root cause of suffering, it is like a disease; the second is: because it is the essence of the arising of the aggregates of suffering, it is like a result; the third is: because it is the essence of the immediate arising of intense suffering, it is like a thorn; the fourth is: because suffering arises continuously, it is the essence of the condition of being extremely destructive, so it is like the four aspects of sin. Thus, the four, such as disease, show those four by way of example. The second is: each of those truths of suffering and origin has three aspects of aversion, detachment, and cessation, respectively. Among them, the nature of the first, that is, the essence, is the other because it repels outwards, and because it is the nature of destruction due to repelling outwards, it is the essence of the aspect of the nature of destruction, and so on, that is, two. Because repelling outwards enters into harm, the other is like an enemy, and because it is feared and cannot be trusted due to harm, it is also called the nature of destruction. By focusing on these two, one will develop aversion to all suffering. Non-aversion is because one dwells in it for a long time and does not see it as having faults, but this
