To slander [A] (Tibetan: ན་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: , Chinese literal meaning: ). The antidote is not to be attached to the basis of establishing self and other, the inner and outer dharmas. The ten non-virtuous paths of action are: because they give rise to undesirable results, the seven non-virtuous actions of body and speech are the nature of karma and mind, and are also the path, while the three of mind are not the nature of mind, but they are the basis on which they rely, so they are the ten paths of action. The antidote is: if these can also obstruct the good realms, what need is there to mention the noble path? It is to know the faults of these ten. To be arrogant and conceited is: to be arrogant with hearing and so on, with discipline and so on, and not to respect other virtuous ones. The antidote is: if one does not cling to any dharma, one will not cling to the basis of arrogance and conceit that "I am superior to this virtue." Reversal is: to regard virtue and non-virtue as what should be cultivated and abandoned respectively, but to reverse them. Or, to cling to the dharmas of these two as if they were truly existent, the antidote is to be free from clinging to things. Although the intention of the sutras is the latter, the former is clearer in the meaning of reversal, so there is no contradiction. Evil wisdom is: In the Ornament of Clear Realization, from the "view of the collection of fears" and other evil wisdom, the [five] views are finally extracted from the word "etc.". Although these two also have what is to be abandoned by cultivation, it does not contradict the common saying. But here, "evil views and other evil wisdom" shows the teacher's view that all five views are included. Moreover, views are afflictive wisdom, and fundamentally "evil wisdom" refers to evil wisdom, so it seems that these two have the same meaning. Or, the word "doubt" appears in this sutra, because it is what is to be abandoned by seeing, if it is not quoted, then it should not be quoted, but since it is quoted, the five views should also be quoted, because the reason is the same. Then, why are only three views and doubt, which are to be abandoned by seeing, mentioned among the afflictions? Because in the view of self, there is only clinging to the aggregates as dharmas, clinging to the dharmas as the extremes of permanence and annihilation, and clinging to these views as the most supreme, etc., so the self-grasping of dharmas can also be established in a category with the same name, so there is no fault. Or, saying that what is to be abandoned by seeing is only a rough statement, and what is said here refers to the possibility of abandoning in those evil realms, so there is no fault.

. The so-called "hesitation" is the same as "doubt" in the sutras. The antidote is to see all dharmas as free from hesitation. Enduring afflictions refers to manifestly turning towards all afflictions such as desire, and indulging the mind, which is called ten types. The antidote is not clinging to desire, etc. The second is attainment. Where is it attained? In the (Bodhisattva) grounds, etc. Why is it said so? Because it can fully ripen sentient beings and protect one's own mind. Those with wisdom are difficult to tame, hence it is called difficult to tame. Because one strives to ripen sentient beings, and through actions contrary to this, one's own mind is not defiled by afflictions, i.e., doing two things. Through what is it abandoned? Through the ten dharmas to be abandoned with the above-mentioned characteristics, and the antidotal dharmas that are the opposite of the dharmas to be abandoned, i.e., the meaning of abandonment, or through the ten purifications that are within one's power. What is within one's power is in the treatises, in short, because the antidote is directly proclaimed. The manner is as before. The sixth is divided into two, the first is attainment. Where is it attained? In the sixth ground. How is it attained? It is truly and completely attained. Through what is it attained? Through the perfection of generosity to wisdom, and the joy of wanting to attain the ground of the disciple Hearer and Pratyekabuddha, and abandoning the fear of profound meaning, and when enjoying wealth, when a beggar begs, the initial thought of not wanting to give disappears, one does not shrink back when begging, and even if one gives away all possessions, one will not regret it in the end, there is no displeasure, and even if one is poor and lacks enjoyment, one will not give rise to the thought of abandoning the beggar, one does not abandon the beggar, thus abandoning the six to be abandoned. The great Bodhisattva abides in the sixth ground, and should perfect the six dharmas, what are the six dharmas? That is, the six perfections. Furthermore, one should completely abandon the six dharmas, what are the six dharmas? That is, one should completely abandon the mind of the Hearer, from "When seeing a beggar, one should not be disturbed by the beggar, one should completely abandon the mind of disturbance," and so on, up to this point. Here, the sutras say that abiding in the sixth ground, one should perfect the six perfections from generosity to wisdom.
