"Ba bo." This is said in terms of the dharani obtained through samadhi. Faith and practice apply to both the paths of accumulation and preparation, with the former being the cause of patience and the latter possessing both patience and the dharani of its cause. The ripening and habituation of hearing are also present even without entering the path. The stage of realization upon obtaining dharani serves as the basis for subsequent qualities, hence the discussion of grounds from there. The grounds, which are the nature of the paths of seeing and meditation, become kinsmen by the distinction of stages in abandoning their respective objects to be abandoned, hence the teaching of kinsmen from there. Second: Practice. Where? All the meanings of the Great Vehicle, such as generating the mind of enlightenment. How? By realizing that the object of practice and the practitioner are not apprehended in that very state, and by engaging in practice by apprehending them as illusions in the ultimate and conventional truths, thus not exceeding the realm of conventional truth. Some believe that in the ultimate truth, the object of meditation and so forth are unattainable or nonexistent, so examining or establishing the object of meditation and so forth in the conventional truth is for the sake of not exceeding the meaning of the conventional truth; including not exceeding the conventional truth within the scope of definition is meaningless. By what? By the seventeen from love to antidote. As it is also stated in the Ornament of Realization with Commentary: "By practicing all the Great Vehicle in accordance with the order explained above, without exceeding the conventional and ultimate truths, with compassion and so forth following after." This also refutes some who make compassion and so forth the seventeen accumulations to be practiced, and then separately explain the seventeen accumulations that are the practitioners. Third: Great compassion and so forth are accumulations, because these seventeen, such as compassion, hold or lead to great enlightenment. Accumulation is called (Tibetan: ཚོགས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: सम्भार, Sanskrit Romanization: saṃbhāra, Chinese literal meaning: gathering), (Tibetan: སཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: सम्, Sanskrit Romanization: sam, Chinese literal meaning: complete) is complete accomplishment, (Tibetan: བྷ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: भार, Sanskrit Romanization: bhāra, Chinese literal meaning: burden) is nature, (Tibetan: ར།, Sanskrit Devanagari: र, Sanskrit Romanization: ra, Chinese literal meaning: take) is holding, in short, because it is the nature that makes great enlightenment completely accomplished. The way of holding as a result is also because compassion and so forth practice all the Great Vehicle through the door of the two truths. In some texts, "the nature of accomplishment" is incorrect. As the Sunlight Commentary says: "These dharmas such as compassion are called accumulations because of the meaning of the nature that makes perfect enlightenment completely accomplished."

So. Fourthly, the establishment of the accumulations is the basis of differentiation. Differentiation has seventeen aspects. The reason is that the seventeen from compassion to antidote are accumulations. This determination of number, as made by the noble ones, is also accepted by the teacher, Shantideva, Abhayaradakira, and Buddhashri. In the Commentary on Valid Cognition, "Which are the paths and the ten grounds?" In the root text, it is not covered by dharani words, and in the commentary, it is introduced into the accumulation of paths, and the reason for emptiness of self-nature is made the reason for emptiness of other-nature, and it is explained that the accumulation of wisdom lacks twenty-one, which is not in accordance with either sutras or treatises, and it is clear that even the sutra words of emptiness are not seen. Here, the establishment of the accumulations is connected in the same way as the establishment of the basis. In the Sunlight Treatise, it says, "The seventeen aspects of the establishment of the accumulations are these, namely, the accumulation of great compassion," and so on, up to "the accumulation of antidotes." If so, then the accumulation of paths will become non-existent in the path of joining, because it says, "the path of seeing and so on." If this is the case, then this is in accordance with what is said in the Sunlight Treatise, namely, "From the establishment of mindfulness onwards, up to the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, those are the accumulations of the path because they include the path of seeing and so on." This is also said because the accumulations of the path of seeing and meditation are the main ones, or because the path of seeing is in the middle, therefore, by adding the word "and so on," it is to include both the former and the latter, so there is no fault. Here, it is explained from the initial mindfulness to the final non-shared qualities, but the first three decisive discriminations and the occasion of the accumulation path and the teachings of the Buddhas are incidental sutras. This reasoning can also be applied to the accumulations of wisdom and merit. Thus, most of the Abhisamayalankara have a main sutra and an incidental sutra, which need to be distinguished. The third has three: wisdom, grounds, and antidote accumulations are difficult to understand and need to be explained separately. The venerable one thought that the latter two were difficult to understand, so he made separate explanations, and the teacher also made explanations for the first one. The first has two: the subject-possessor wisdom and the object emptiness are explained. The first is: among the seventeen accumulations that are taught, namely, from that, the accumulation of wisdom separately.
