Firstly, it must be based on the desire realm. Because the intermediate state of the form realm has already arisen, for that intermediate state, there is the karma of accomplishing the intermediate state; the arising of the form realm has already been accomplished, and from that basis, there is the karma of experiencing change after birth; having already been born in the Brahma host heaven, and then going to Akanistha in the future; having already been born from the Brahma host heaven to the first Pure Abode; and having been born in the Very Manifest heaven through other places, because for that, there is no karma of experiencing change for other times. In order, it is to pass away in the basis of that very intermediate existence; or not to take even one birth; or to take only one birth. There is pervasion, because the meaning of the karma of experiencing after birth and other times is the future life, and from then on experiencing the ripening, as stated in the Compendium, and because all these karmas are definitely the ripening. In the Compendium, it is also said: "What is it to completely pass away from sorrow in the intermediate state? It is abandoning the continuous connection of birth, and not abandoning the continuous connection of manifest accomplishment." And it is said: "What is it to pass away from sorrow after birth? It is not abandoning both continuous connections." And in its explanation, it is also said that because it is said that the latent tendencies of birth remain in the intermediate state, and the afflictions of the cause of arising have been exhausted, it is unreasonable to pass away in the intermediate state of the approaching entrance where the intermediate state has been accomplished. In that case, the four types of passing away and the five types of upward transference have the basis of the upper realm, and those that are separated from the two approaching entrances are based on the desire realm. Secondly, as stated in the Treasury: "The rest pass into nirvana here." That is, because it is other than the approaching entrance in the form and formless realms, it is a non-returner, because this does not arise in the upper realm, and is a non-returner, so it does not arise in the desire realm either. Then, in the Treasury, it says: "Having attained cessation, the non-returner desires to manifest it with the body." Where does this belong? In general, the non-returner who has attained cessation, if he does not fall from the cessation attainment, then in that life, if he falls, he will be born in the form realm, and pass away there, and after being born there, he will generate the cessation attainment, and after dying and transferring, he will pass away at the peak of existence, saying one and three. The first is the manifestation of the body of the peace of seeing the Dharma, and the latter two are because the non-returner who has fallen and not recovered abides in the basis of the desire realm, it is the approaching entrance of the form realm, and the body manifestor does not
