Thereafter, the Bodhisattva, abiding in meditative equipoise, cannot fully perceive all things except for the expression of mind. Thus it is said. Second is the peak: In order to increase the appearance of the Dharma obtained in the heat, one exerts steadfast effort through non-abiding action, which is the samadhi of increasing appearance. Thus it is also said: For the sake of increasing the appearance of the Dharma, always exert steadfast effort. Thus it is said. In this regard, the commentary emphasizes the word "steadfast effort," while in the Great Commentary, the word "steadfast" in "steadfast effort" is emphasized on the Bodhisattva. Third is forbearance: Thus, by exerting effort, the appearance of the Dharma greatly increases, and abiding in mind-only, one realizes that what appears as an object is only the inner mind. Then, what appears as things is only mind, and is not other than mind, thus seeing, at that time abandoning the distraction of the grasped, only the distraction of the grasper remains. This is the samadhi of entering one side of the ungrasped and following the ungrasping, thus entering one side of Suchness. Thus It is also said: After the appearance of the Dharma increases, it will abide in mind-only. Then, what appears as things will be completely seen as mind. At that time, the distraction of the grasped will be abandoned. Then, in that, only the distraction of the grasper remains. Thus it is said. Fourth is the supreme Dharma: Thus, after abandoning the distraction of the grasped, only abiding in the distraction of the grasper, one also thinks, if there is no grasped, then the grasper should not exist either. Thus, attachment to the distraction of the grasper is also immediately abandoned, and one touches the immediate samadhi, which is called the immediate samadhi. Why is it called the immediate samadhi? Because immediately after abandoning the distraction of the grasped, one abandons the distraction of the grasper, and immediately after abandoning the distraction of the grasper, one enters the first ground. Thus It is also said: At that time, one quickly touches the uninterrupted samadhi. Thus, after that, one abandons the distraction of the grasper. These stages are said to be the heat, etc. Thus it is said. Ornament of the Sutras

In manifestation, the first three are the manifestation of wisdom, divided into small, medium, and large three types of manifestation, and the fourth is said to be the perfection of the manifestation of non-manifestation wisdom. In this way, although the first three can obtain the meditative certainty of non-grasping, the distraction of grasping is not pacified due to attachment to mind-only. The fourth does not even grasp mind-only, so it obtains the meditative certainty of non-grasping. Regarding this meaning, Rig Ral says: That is not correct, because like this, (the sutra) says to abandon the distraction of grasping after Dharmottama. This statement is not reasonable, because the Great Commentary says that the meaning of "after that" is immediately after abandoning the distraction of grasping. In the Ornament of Sutras, it is also said that there is no distraction of grasping Dharmottama. In the Compendium of Topics, it is also said in the quoted sutra: When a Bodhisattva is in equanimity, after seeing the image of the mind, he firmly grasps his own perception. Like this, abiding in the mind within, one should realize non-grasping. After that is non-grasping, and then one should attain non-sign. Because the path of seeing is taught after non-grasping. Thus, these four are also called the stage of faith practice because of the increased faith in the meaning of selflessness. In the Cloud of Jewels Sutra, it is also said: Bodhisattvas who abide in this stage, even if they are ordinary beings, are completely free from all the degenerations of children, and are endowed with countless qualities such as samadhi, dharani, liberation, and supernormal powers. It is also said that they are endowed with many qualities. Second, in terms of essence, there are four: heat, peak, forbearance, and supreme dharma. In terms of large and small, there are twelve, because each has three. In addition, heat, peak, forbearance, and supreme dharma are also said to have three types of forbearance of the certainty of mind towards dharma: small, medium, and large. Regarding supreme dharma, in the commentaries on the Perfection of Wisdom Sutras, there is a distinction between large and small, but in both the upper and lower Abhidharma, it is said to be a single moment. In the Ornament of Sutras, it is also said to be an immediately following or uninterrupted samadhi, so it seems to agree with the view of a moment. Third, some say: The samadhi of the path of joining is manifest yoga, and there is no conceptualization at all. Others say it is the knowledge of cutting off memory.
