Therefore, it must arise at all times, so it will never become non-arising. If desired, then arising will become beginningless and endless, because even if it has become a fruit, it must arise again. It also cannot arise from other, because everything will arise from everything. This cannot be refuted, if it can be refuted, then it is not just arising from other, but it should be refuted by saying that it arises from other that has the ability to produce that fruit, if the ability is examined, then it will become the same as what is to be proven. It also cannot arise from both, because it will become two faults. It also cannot arise from no cause, because it will become arising in all places and times. Thus, in the Root Verses on the Middle Way, it says: Not from self, not from other, not from both, not from no cause, wherever things are, they never arise anywhere. Therefore, form and so on also have no cessation, because there is no arising. Furthermore, if there is a dharma called "cessation," then is it an existing dharma or a non-existing dharma? If it is the former, then existence should not be cessation, because cessation is without destruction, therefore existence and non-existence cannot be on the same thing. If it is the latter, then it is also not reasonable, because it is non-existent. For example, like a rabbit's horn. Thus, in the Root Verses on the Middle Way, it says: The arising of all things, is something that is not established, therefore the cessation of all things, is also not established. Existence and non-existence, is something that is not so, in non-existent things, how can there be cessation, like a person cutting off his head, cannot put it back on. Therefore, arising and cessation are just imputed, and do not exist in ultimate truth. Thus, from the Destruction of Harm, these previous and subsequent scriptures are quoted, and the reasons for preventing arising and cessation are stated, which seem to be no different from the reasons stated by the teacher Shantideva and the noble Chandrakirti, and with this, it is established that there is no arising and cessation in all things, while the Mind-Only school says that things have no arising and cessation, and believes that it is on the imputed, and says that other-powered does not arise, which means that self-nature does not arise, but arises from other conditions, how can these situations be the same? Furthermore, complete purification is also non-existent in ultimate truth, if all afflictions

If things are of their own nature, since their own nature cannot be abandoned, they will never become pure; if pure things are of their own nature, then they will never be completely defiled, because their own nature cannot be abandoned. Furthermore, if all dharmas are completely defiled, then do they become defiled from something that is already defiled, or do they become defiled from something that is pure? If it is the former, then complete defilement is meaningless, because it has already become that, so there is no need to generate it again. Or it will not become pure, because that which has already become completely defiled needs to arise there again and again. If it is the latter, it is also unreasonable, because it is contradictory. That is to say, it is unreasonable for one thing to have both defilement and purity at the same time, because it is impossible for one thing to have two contradictory natures. The same reasoning applies to purity. Therefore, complete defilement and purity do not exist in the ultimate sense, but on the self-nature pure Suchness, the state of ordinary beings is called complete defilement, and the state of liberation is called purity, which is merely a conceptual designation, as stated in the 'Destruction of Harm'. That is also what is said in the 'Root Verses on the Middle Way': 'It is never reasonable for self-nature to change into another nature.' And 'A temporary bondage will not be liberated, and what is not bound will not be liberated either. If bondage is being liberated, then bondage and liberation will occur at the same time.' And 'In the absence of characteristics, there will be no characteristics, and not in the presence of characteristics.' What is said and the key point of this reasoning are the same. Therefore, how can the Mind-Only school's assertion that the basis of bondage and liberation, the luminous mind, is true, be compared to the statement here that both defilement and purity are merely conceptual designations? Third, it is an admonition regarding the truth of cessation as the object of expression. What is that? It is the emptiness of all dharmas, from the formless onwards, the word 'etc.' includes the four aggregates, the six sense bases, the eighteen realms, the absence of ignorance, the absence of birth, and the word 'also' includes up to old age and death, the absence of birth, the absence of ignorance, the absence of cessation. The word 'also' includes up to old age and death, the absence of cessation. There is no enlightened Buddha, and there is nothing up to the enlightenment to be realized. The word 'also' includes the four truths, the four fruits, the solitary realizers, etc., these are not established in the ultimate sense.
