Furthermore, if those realizations of the Buddha's conditioned phenomena are not the path, then where are the four noble truths placed? Who other than you, whose wisdom is like the sky, could find such a noble realization that is not any of the four noble truths? If there is no reasoning that acts as an antidote to what is to be abandoned in the Buddha's realm, no determination to go to nirvana, and no practice, then how can there be a path truth? Although there is no actual abandonment of what is to be abandoned in the Buddha's realm, and no further progress beyond that, it possesses the unobstructed power to destroy what is to be abandoned, and the perfect wisdom and mind to lead sentient beings to liberation without any perversion, and the practice is present. Both the Great Vehicle and the path state that there are two ways of going, going by this and going here. Here, too, thirty-nine aspects are said to be the path truth, so what is the use of those investigations? Furthermore, the accumulation and preparation stages are the direct perceptions that cause each vehicle to progress to its own enlightenment, and are the yoga of realizing selflessness, so they are the nature of the path. If they cannot uproot the seeds of what is to be abandoned and only measure the general meaning of selflessness, and therefore are not the path, then if it is manifest, it must not be what is to be abandoned, because if it is an antidote, it must only destroy the seeds. If it is hidden, it must be uncomprehended, because comprehending in the manner of a general meaning is necessarily uncomprehended. Therefore, please acknowledge that, like something far away, the valid cognition that cognizes the object is only direct perception. Furthermore, it should be acknowledged that there is no such thing as entering the path for ordinary beings, practicing with the union of skillful means and wisdom, and not turning back from complete enlightenment. Suffering and the path are also not necessarily contradictory, just like the two sides of defilement and purification. It is not the truth of the origin, because it must be either affliction or the karma caused by it, but it is neither of the two, because this follows the realization of selflessness, is the supreme means of nirvana, cannot be the cause of rebirth, and cuts it off. Then, in the Compendium it says: "Whatever worldly dharma refutes the existence of rebirth and does not incline towards it, generates the path that transcends the world."

So, why are these included in the truth of the origin? Although they do not inherently tend towards the state of rebirth, they are in accordance with the misdeeds committed by the body, speech, and mind of those who are reborn. Therefore, it should be understood that they are also included in the truth of the origin. If someone asks: Does this contradict the scriptures? There is no contradiction. Because the scripture states that only the origin of actions that cause rebirth, which are virtuous and tainted, are included in the truth of the origin. Secondly, each truth has four aspects, making a total of sixteen. What are these sixteen? The first truth has: impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. The second truth has: cause, origin, arising, and condition. The third truth has: cessation, peace, excellence, and liberation. The fourth truth has: path, reason, practice, and deliverance. The individual recognition of these sixteen aspects will be explained in the scriptures, so I will not discuss them here. So, why are they established as sixteen? To counteract the views and practices of permanence, pleasure, self, and the belief in self, the first four are in order. To counteract the views and practices of causelessness, single cause, change, and fatalism, the second set of four. To counteract the views and practices of no liberation, suffering is liberation, the bliss of meditation is excellent, and the idea that liberation is not irreversible, the third set of four. To counteract the views and practices of no path, this path is evil, others are also paths, and the idea that this path will also regress, the fourth set of four. Therefore, for the sake of these sixteen views and practices, sixteen aspects are established. Furthermore, to summarize, what is the meaning of the truth of suffering? It is said: It is the meaning of formations arising from afflictions. What is the meaning of the truth of origin? It is said: It is the meaning of producing the truth of suffering. What is the meaning of the truth of cessation? It is said: It is the meaning of the pacification of both of them. What is the meaning of the truth of the path? It is said: It is the meaning of accomplishing the first three meanings. As it is said in the scriptures, one can also understand the nature of these.
