Napo oh. First, in the Compendium, it says, "What is the truth of suffering? That is, sentient beings' birth and place of birth can also be recognized." Like this, the two impure worlds of vessel and sentient beings are the truth of suffering. It says in the same text, "Whatever is the world of sentient beings and whatever is the world of vessels, produced by karma and afflictions, and whatever arises from the power of karma and afflictions, all of this is the truth of suffering." In short, whatever is characterized by being tainted, all of that is the truth of suffering. The basis of the origin of suffering, in the Compendium, it says, "What is the truth of the origin of suffering? It is afflictions and the karma that arises from the power of afflictions." Like this, all tainted karma and afflictions are. Second, there are two: the basis of the cessation of suffering and the path to the cessation of suffering. First, in the Compendium, many things are said, but in summary, there are two cessations: conventional and ultimate. The meaning of these two, how is the conventional? It is the cessation that occurs when the worldly path weakens the seed. How is the ultimate? It is the cessation that occurs when the wisdom of the noble ones completely destroys the seed. Thus, ordinary beings only have abandonment, but there is no imputation of the truth of cessation, because the seed has not been uprooted. Some believe that the truth of cessation is pervaded by suchness, while others believe the opposite, but neither has carefully examined it. In the Compendium, it says, "How is it by characteristic? It is suchness, the path, and the non-arising of afflictions, that is, where there is cessation, by what there is cessation, and what is ceased, thus suchness is the object to be negated, the object to be abandoned, and the part destroyed by the path is said to be the nature of what is ceased." Also, in the same text, it says, "In this way, focusing on suchness, where the tainted object ceases, that is the characteristic of cessation." Thus, the part of what is to be abandoned that is blocked by the path is also said to be the truth of cessation, so the nature of the separate examination of existence and non-existence, and the cessation, must also be established there. For example, just as the place devoid of a vase and the part blocking the vase on top of it are both without a vase, so too, the suchness of the noble stream and the part blocking what is to be abandoned by the path on top of it are both the truth of cessation. That is because it is the unconditioned that is abandoned by the past path, so

O! Furthermore, the Blessed One's so-called "cessation of suffering" refers to that which is uncreated, unborn, inexhaustible, free from exhaustion, constant, stable, peaceful, indestructible, naturally completely pure, liberated from all nests of affliction, undifferentiated, inconceivable, possessing Buddha-dharmas exceeding the sands of the Ganges River, and is declared as the Dharmakaya of the Tathagata. Blessed One, this very Dharmakaya of the Tathagata, not liberated from the nest of afflictions, is called the Tathagatagarbha. Just as it is said, everything should be understood in detail as explained in the sutras regarding the establishment of the truth of the cessation of suffering. As quoted in the commentary on the Uttaratantra, the nature of the mind transformed into a state of stainlessness must also be considered as the truth of cessation. For the truth of cessation, it is not enough to be merely naturally pure; it is also necessary to subdue what is to be abandoned through the power of cultivation of the path. It should be known that even the seeds damaged by worldly paths are also called imputed cessation, that is, nominal cessation. Secondly, in the Compendium it says: "What is the truth of the path? The path by which one completely understands suffering, abandons the origin of suffering, realizes cessation, and cultivates the path; this is the concise definition of the path." Furthermore, there are five paths: the path of accumulation, the path of preparation, the path of seeing, the path of cultivation, and the path of consummation. Following these, we consider all five paths as the path truth. Some say that the paths of accumulation and preparation are merely in the vicinity of the path truth, hence they are spoken of in that way. In the commentary on the Compendium it says: "This distinction should also be understood in terms of the truth of the path and its retinue." Others say that because they do not possess the four qualities of the path and the qualities of purity, clarity, and antidote, the paths of no-more-learning and the paths of accumulation and preparation are the result and cause, therefore they are not the nature of the path, only the paths of seeing and cultivation are the nature of the path. This statement is also pleasing to the gods. In the commentary on the Uttaratantra it says: "This, by the reasoning previously explained, distinguishes the characteristics of the two truths of the Sugata, completely purified by being unborn and unceasing, possessing a Dharmakaya free from attachment."
