Here are the types of places mentioned. First, it is the Dharmadhatu that becomes the cause of unsurpassed Bodhi. Second, the Dharma as a basis is the nature of the Dharmadhatu of the Dharma that becomes the basis, that is, the Dharmadhatu mentioned here as the basis for practice. There are thirteen types of Dharma as a basis. The boundary is: what exists between the accumulation path and the end of the path of learning is the intention that appears like sunlight and appears like adornment, and what is directly taught is between the heat and the end of the path of learning. Second, the objects of practice are what become the objects of knowledge of the practitioner. There are eleven types of distinctions. There is no boundary between this and the form, because it pervades all objects of knowledge. Third, what is specifically to be done is the ultimate result of relying on which Bodhisattva enters into practice. There are three great distinctions. The boundary is the Buddha-land. Fourth, there are two: characteristics and divisions. First, it is the activity of cultivating the two benefits for the sake of unsurpassed Bodhi based on the generation of great vehicle mind, as stated in the Ornament Sutra: "The place, creation, fruit, and arising are of great nature, and are said to be the practice of the sons of the Conqueror. Constantly taking the great and enduring the great, they perform the activity of accomplishing great benefits." Among them, the three great places, creations, and fruits are, in order, the generation of mind, the cultivation of the two benefits, and the great Bodhi. These three are also, in order, taking sentient beings, enduring suffering, and accomplishing the benefit of many sentient beings. Second, there are four: armor, entry, accumulation, and determination. Among them, the former ones are stated in the Ornament Sutra: "First is the diligence of armor, then the diligence of properly entering into union, and the diligence of not being timid, not being confused, and being content." The first one mentioned is armor practice, the second is entry practice, the third and fourth are accumulation practice, and the fifth is determination to renounce practice. Among them, the activity of armor is to practice by including all six perfections in each perfection. The previous general characteristics and the three below should be combined. In general, for armor, the Ornament Sutra says that the division of armor is also shown in two ways: the vast intention to strive for the benefit of all sentient beings, and the completion of all practices with one practice.

Because of practice, it is a vast accomplishment. The thought of striving for the benefit of all sentient beings is the armor of thought. As thought in this way, each of the perfections is practiced with sixfold accumulations. This is said to be the armor of accomplishment. Of these two, the latter is in this treatise. Why is it called armor? Because it cannot be penetrated by the weapons of opposing forces. If classified, there are six armors of the six perfections. The initial boundary is from the Easy Explanation of the Compendium, which says, 'Regarding this, the accomplishment of armor should be understood as the path of accumulation.' Thus, the final boundary is the constant edge. Then, this and the entering accomplishment become indistinguishable, because both actually enter the six perfections. If asked in this way, not only the entering accomplishment, but all three subsequent accomplishments are armor accomplishments, because all bodhisattva paths similarly study the six perfections. Even so, it does not become indistinguishable, because the entering accomplishment enters the six perfections through the way of primarily arising from meditation, while the armor accomplishment also has practice through the way of primarily arising from hearing and thinking. Some people think that the armor accomplishment is merely putting on armor with thought, which is prohibited by previous scriptures and the root, because it also speaks of practicing the six perfections. Therefore, the armor accomplishment is the proximate cause of the entering accomplishment, which is before obtaining entry. After obtaining it, both are, and the six perfections are studied on the path of accumulation, but it is not established as the entering accomplishment because the part arising from meditation is not large there. Similarly, the way in which the accumulation accomplishment and the definitive accomplishment become proximate causes should also be known. Second, the activity of entering is the activity of entering the Great Vehicle through the way of primarily arising from meditation. If classified, there are nine entering accomplishments. The upper limit of the boundary is the same as before, and the lower limit is from the Easy Explanation, which says, 'The accomplishment of entering should be understood as the stage of faith practice.' And also in the Destruction of the Three Mothers of Harm, it says, 'The so-called truly entering the Great Vehicle refers to the stage of practice with effort and with conceptualization from the stage of faith practice up to the seventh ground. The so-called truly abiding in the Great Vehicle refers to the practice of ultimate truth from the eighth ground onwards.' And so on, the boundaries of entering and abiding are spoken of.
