It is to understand the arising of the two. This similarity of example and meaning is also explained in the explanation of the "Famous Hundred Thousand Prajñā Lights," and it is also mentioned in the two great commentaries, the Ornamentation Commentary of Shānti Deva and Abhaya, that just as the fire increases due to the difference of firewood, the combination also becomes special. The intention explained in this commentary is: This sutra teaches the learning of the Mother through the three wisdoms and shows the abandonment of incompatible aspects. In the path of application, because the combination of the three wisdoms is empowered by meditation-born, in order to burn its obscurations, extraordinary power is obtained, therefore it is thought to be similar to fire. Fifth, possessing the perfection of generosity, like a great treasure, satisfying all sentient beings with the enjoyment of Dharma and material things, and never being exhausted. Wanting to establish stingy sentient beings in generosity, and wanting to overwhelm all the roots of virtue of all the sons and daughters of the lineage of hearers and self-realizers who give generosity with one mind that possesses rejoicing, and so on. Sixth, possessing the perfection of discipline, like a source of jewels, with the qualities of strength and so on, the very thing that is the basis for the arising of jewels, such as the breaking of vows, and so on. Seventh, possessing the perfection of patience, like a great ocean, all unpleasant things such as fire and weapons fall upon the top, but the mind is not disturbed, such as those with malicious intent, and so on. Eighth, possessing the perfection of diligence, like a vajra, having steadfast faith in unsurpassed enlightenment, therefore not being shaken by demons, such as the lazy, and so on. Ninth, possessing the perfection of meditation, like the king of mountains, because of the distraction of focusing on signs, therefore not being moved from samadhi, such as those with scattered minds, and so on. Tenth, possessing the perfection of wisdom that realizes the two selflessnesses, like a great medicine, able to pacify afflictions such as attachment and the diseases of the obscurations of knowledge such as the clinging to the apprehended and the apprehender, such as those with corrupted wisdom, and so on. Eleventh, possessing the perfection of skillful means, like a virtuous friend

With compassion and skillful means, one never abandons the intention to benefit sentient beings in all circumstances of prosperity and decline. Even a single arising of virtuous thought is skillfully dedicated to omniscience, with the desire to make it immeasurable and countless. Similarly, giving small offerings, keeping small precepts, cultivating small patience, initiating small diligence, abiding in small meditation, and even cultivating small wisdom, one desires, as before, through skillful means, and so on. This is like a drop of water falling into the ocean; even dedicating a small root of virtue from the six perfections to enlightenment, it will not be exhausted until it is attained. And for the sake of sentient beings, one can endure the suffering of the lower realms. To show this, the example of a spiritual friend is taught. Twelfth, possessing the perfection of aspiration, like a wish-fulfilling jewel, because of the power of the place, the fruit of whatever one aspires to in the mind is accomplished. For example, accomplishing the body of a great enlightened Buddha, transcending the stage of youth, not being separated from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, being understood in the ten directions of the world with a single voice, the lineage of the Three Jewels not being cut off, and wishing to honor the Buddhas with whatever roots of virtue, may those roots of virtue be perfectly accomplished, and so on. To show how aspirations are accomplished, it is taught. Thirteenth, possessing the perfection of strength, like the sun, it ripens the virtuous crops in the minds of those to be tamed. For example, the great Bodhisattva fulfills the wishes of all sentient beings with food, drink, clothing, and so on, and places all sentient beings reaching the limits of space in the six perfections, and wishes that even a single virtuous thought will not be exhausted until enlightenment is attained, and so on. To show that it ripens the minds of others with Dharma and material things, and ripens one's own roots of virtue, it is taught. Here it is also said that one is placed in the six perfections for the sake of vast benefit to others. Fourteenth, possessing the perfection of wisdom, like the beautiful sound of Dharma, the song of a Gandharva, it makes those to be tamed rejoice.
