Those who desire enlightenment should strive diligently; this is a brief explanation of aspiration. Secondly, because one desires enlightenment, one should study the six perfections. Combining these and elaborating in detail emphasizes their importance. To eliminate harm, holding precepts will not lead to downfall, especially to prevent downfall, it is quoted that the meaning is that when a Bodhisattva, whether a householder or a renunciate, has taken vows, they will not fall into transgression. Even if they do, they will confess before the time limit expires. If the meaning of not having tasted is applied to self-interest, then even if there is tasting, it does not exist when applied to the benefit of others. Therefore, this applies to purity and non-leakage, not to those with afflictions, so it is explained. The second is, it is indicated. Where is it that one desires to benefit others? From what perspective and from where is it indicated? It is the same as before. With what words? In each of the ten directions, as many sentient beings as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, all those in the world, wishing to place them in the realm of Nirvana without remaining aggregates, according to their respective capacities, should also cultivate and study this Prajnaparamita. This is a language that emphasizes striving specifically for the benefit of others, briefly indicating the desire to benefit others. Wishing to place miserly sentient beings in generosity, and so on, what is included earlier is those with broken precepts, those with much hatred, the lazy, the distracted, those with corrupted wisdom, etc. What is included later is the great Bodhisattva who wishes to place those with perfect precepts, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom in it, should also cultivate and study this Prajnaparamita. This is a language that emphasizes striving specifically for the benefit of others, elaborating in detail the desire to benefit others. The first sutra is only for the Nirvana of others, and the second sutra separately explains the desire to place the cause of Nirvana, the six perfections, separately in it, so it is said. The third, etc., summarizes the inexhaustible wisdom, etc., the content spoken with others as the object of generating Bodhicitta from others. Thus, the two sutras and two sets of content, in sequence, briefly and in detail, explain Bodhicitta and the desire to benefit others. The venerable one perfects for the sake of others with Bodhicitta.

It is explained as the meaning of desire. Since it is a Mahayana occasion, Bodhi is desired to be attained for the sake of others, not for oneself, so it is thought. Those who say that the two objects are spoken of in brief and extensive ways from the Mother Sutra. It is unreasonable to say "not contradicting the meaning of the Sutra." If it is the Mother Sutra, then it would become "showing not contradicting that itself" in the Mother Sutra, so there is no need to learn. If it is used for the Seven Jewels and the Tree Arrangement, etc., then it is also necessary to examine whether it contradicts other Sutras, so it will become limitless and also contradict the occasion. Like the Sutra, the basis for examining whether it is in accordance with or contradicts is in the treatise, showing the characteristics of generating Bodhicitta, and this Mother Sutra is the root Sutra. Moreover, the Ornament of Realization also says, "The Holy Twenty-five Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra should be spoken of as it is." Therefore, for this meaning, Amara Chandra thinks, "Speaking briefly and extensively in the language of the treatise, implying not contradicting the Mother Sutra," which is also unreasonable. Because the connection is shown in all three Mother Sutras, and in all the commentaries, the words showing briefly and extensively are made in the Sutra itself. It is also meaningless to say that it is brief in the context of characteristics and extensive in the context of distinctions. Because after the characteristics, the question of the future explanation of the two objects arises, and before the distinctions, the summary of what has been said arises. Moreover, the distinction is the extensive explanation of Bodhicitta, not the explanation of the object. This is not uncertain, but like you, the brief and extensive explanation is made for a few objects. In the Clear Words, the answer to "What is the nature of desire" is that wanting complete Bodhi is also like the eight similes of illusion, it is wanting, not clinging to reality, which is showing everything like giving, etc. The answer to "For whose benefit is Bodhicitta generated, what is complete Bodhi" is "all sentient beings," etc. This shows the action that is not common with Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, so the author is said to be Bodhi. The answer to "For whose benefit" shows "sentient beings are stingy," etc. Like this, making three questions and then connecting the answer's Sutra sections into three paragraphs is not the intention. Because one Sutra is missing, and like it is done in the Lamp of Wisdom, connecting the front and back two by two to make two is the teacher.
