Self is the Dharma of action, the supreme mind. Therefore, for the Bhagavan, there is actually no conceptual thought of a seeking mind. It means that although there is no conceptual mind of a seeker, there is a non-conceptual mind of a sought object. Alternatively, aspiration is conceptual in the path of learning, but non-conceptual in the Buddha-field. As it says in that very text: Or, like the great compassion that desires to be free from suffering, which is the nature of conceptual thought, that was before, but later the Tathagata has no conceptual thought, so desiring perfect and complete enlightenment in that way is without fault. The fourth is: wanting to place all sentient beings in Buddhahood and then attain Buddhahood oneself is like a shepherd; wanting to attain Buddhahood simultaneously with oneself and all others is like a sheep; wanting to liberate others after attaining Buddhahood oneself is like a king. It is taught that there are these three types of bodhicitta. Regarding this, the Bhagavan said: If it were like the first two, they would become vows of impossibility and would become violations of vows, because it is impossible for all sentient beings to attain Buddhahood before and simultaneously with oneself. If all sentient beings attain Buddhahood, there is no need for oneself to attain Buddhahood, just like calculating the date after shaving one's head. Therefore, although the bodhicitta like the king is explained in the scriptures, this is the only one. However, there are many impossibilities in the training of the mind of a Bodhisattva, and there are also many prayers that cannot be fulfilled, so those refutations are unreasonable. Therefore, although the king-like one is often explained in various treatises, the way of training the mind of a Bodhisattva is inconceivable, so it is possible. The third is, in the Bodhicaryāvatāra: Like the supreme form of gold-transforming elixir, having taken this impure body, it transforms into the body of the Victorious One, because of the priceless jewel, one should firmly hold onto the so-called Bodhicitta. Once Bodhicitta is born, in an instant, the wretched ones bound in the prison of samsara are called the sons of the Sugatas, and become objects of reverence for gods and humans in the world. And in the Commentary on the Mind: Without generating Bodhicitta, one will never attain Buddhahood, and in samsara, others

There is no other way to accomplish the meaning. This is the situation and the ultimate fruit that is spoken of. In short, in the "Glorious Question Sutra," it says: The merit of the mind of enlightenment, if it had form, then the entire realm of space would be filled, it would be even more than that. These are all that is said. Thus, the categories, nature, recognition, benefits, and boundaries of the generation of the mind of enlightenment, only because it is timely, I have also spoken. However, the lamas enumerate and explain the rituals of the generation of the mind of enlightenment, those root downfalls, head, and heart, whether they are separate or not, in various ways. Those are too fond of elaboration, appearing to be boundless explanations, so I have not bothered, but rather sought the connection of all the treatises in one treatise to explain, then even one verse, until the end of life, cannot be finished. Second, it is divided into two: nature and categories. First, it is divided into two: the actual nature and its combination with the sutras. First, it is divided into three, among which the combination is: the generation of the mind of enlightenment is spoken of together with the object that its own nature focuses on. The teaching is: the generation of the mind of enlightenment of the Mahayana is to desire to attain perfect and complete enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings other than oneself. However, what is this desire? This refers to the desire mentioned in the statement that with this desire and that desire, the Bodhisattva should strive for the Mother. If one does not know its nature, what is it? This refers to what is said in the Twenty Thousand Verse Sutra to strive for. That is, at the time of the initial generation of the mind of enlightenment, the Bodhisattva, as the basis, must definitely attain Buddhahood himself, and must accomplish the benefit of other beings, and strive in this way. The explanation is: the word "said" is said because it is intended to arrange the immediately past root as the content to be said, and "te" is the guide to the explanation, which should be known in all the following situations without special provisions. This is divided into two: the actual nature and the refutation of disputes. First, it is divided into three, among which, the nature of the generation of the mind of enlightenment with emptiness and great compassion as its core is: in order to liberate others from the cause and effect of samsara and to place others in the cause and effect of nirvana, one desires to attain perfect and complete enlightenment.
