The ten obscurations of the grounds are also abandoned by the ten grounds in sequential order, because they are the opposing factors of those grounds. As it is said in the Madhyāntavibhāga: "The meaning of all-pervading purpose, the supreme nature of the meaning of common cause, the meaning of non-apprehension, the meaning of no difference in the continuums, the meaning of non-purity of afflictions, the meaning of non-difference, the meaning of non-decrease and non-increase, power is the place of four aspects. In the realm of dharma, ignorance, the ten obscurations that are not afflictive, the opposing factors of the ten grounds, their antidotes are the grounds." It is also said in the Abhisamayālaṅkāra that the four powers are obtained in those three grounds: "Because of mind, apprehension, and discrimination, there is non-discrimination. In the pure land and wisdom, there are four powers. Those powers are fourfold in the immovable and other three grounds. One has two aspects, and other than that, power is desired one by one." There are two parts to the second: establishing the valid position and refuting the position that is not valid. The first is: what are the modes of realization explained in the Madhyāntavibhāga, whether they are the modes of realization of equipoise or subsequent attainment? In the time of subsequent attainment, there are different ways of leading to certainty, so it is the mode of realization of that. In the commentary on the Abhisamayālaṅkāra: "When one meditates that all phenomena are selfless, although one has realized the nature of all dharmas by the nature of indivisibility, in order to generate certainty, because of realizing individually by the meaning of all-pervading, at that time, the wisdom that makes manifest that all phenomena are without inherent existence arises very clearly, and at that time, the bodhisattva correctly enters into the faultless, and thus will obtain the path of seeing." Also, Gedun Chokyi says in the commentary on the Uttaratantra that realizes as many as there are: "The seeing of the bodhisattva also arises on the first ground, because it realizes the meaning of the all-pervading of the realm of dharma." The reason why this latter quote becomes the knower is that the realization of as many as there are must be accepted as subsequent attainment. In equipoise, the way of realizing the nature of reality is not allowed to be accepted as different. If it is allowed, then are the natures of reality to be realized on the paths of seeing and meditation residing in different natures? In the nature of reality, like that

Even if there isn't, is it because of understanding in a way that is different (from usual)? If it is like the first case, then isn't it contradictory to say that the distinctions made to the Dharma-nature are only because the subjects are different, and not from the perspective of the Dharma-nature itself? The Dharma-nature, like a vase and a blanket, would become the nature of multiple parts, so please admit that for this, without relying on the subject, the distinction of self-nature is spontaneously established. If it is like the second case, then the samadhi of the great vehicle noble ones would become a delusion about the Dharma-nature, because they hold onto things that do not match the object, like the consciousness of two moons. Therefore, the samadhi of the ten bhumis does not hold onto any of the four extremes and other elaborations on the Dharma-nature, and merely calling the pacification of all of that as non-elaboration or seeing the real nature is just a name. In the Collection of Precious Qualities, it says: "All forms are not seen, all feelings are not seen, No thought is seen, no sentient being is seen, The Tathagata said this is seeing the Dharma, sentient beings say in words that they see the sky, How can the sky be seen? One should carefully examine this meaning, It cannot be explained by other metaphors, thus the Tathagata said to see the Dharma." It is said that it is like calling it seeing the sky when one does not see the obscurations such as mountains. So, what is the object of samadhi? On this, there are two views, considering the object of samadhi to be without appearance and with appearance. The first view is, in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra, it says: "By familiarizing with emptiness, it can cut off, The habit of things, if one also familiarizes with nothing, That will also be removed from this, when there is nothing, what thing, Can be observed, when all are not clung to, At that time, without different aspects, relying on no things, How can it abide, when there are real things, And those unreal things, both do not abide in the mind, At that time, without remaining aspects, completely pacified without conditions." And, in the Essence of the Sage, it also says that in the state of samadhi, all elaborations of discrimination cease, so there is no object, etc. at all. So, what is the meaning of seeing? It means that consciousness does not arise for the object, and merely seeing the non-seeing itself is seeing. Because the moments of consciousness follow after that, therefore it is said to be seeing.
