The reason for becoming "is" is terminology. Not abandoning means that the opposite of abandoning, discarding, and giving up those aspects is the reason for terminology. In purity and completeness, it speaks of the Great Vehicle that should not be abandoned. Among the two destructions, what is abandoned is the aggregates, and the absence of aggregates is nirvana without remainder. In the Sutra of the Fortunate Aeon, it says that aggregates are to be abandoned. The previous nirvana was nirvana with remainder, so it is said that this does not repeat that. Self-nature is the emptiness of conditioned and unconditioned phenomena. That is empty from the beginning, so that emptiness is not created by any noble being, therefore conditioned phenomena change and unconditioned phenomena do not change, so it cannot be harmed, this is the reason for terminology. All phenomena are aggregates, realms, sources, contact, feeling, form, formless, conditioned, unconditioned. Because it summarizes all phenomena in this way, it shows the reason for terminology. The phenomena of conditioned and unconditioned phenomena are merely established in dependence on each other, this is the reason for establishing emptiness. Dharma arising and so on are arising and ceasing and so on, as well as being able to become form and so on, and being able to experience and so on. It is the characteristic of general and specific, this is the reason for terminology. The general and specific that are established as characteristics are merely imputed, this is the reason for establishment. Past and so on are the three times, for each of those, not observing the other two is the reason for terminology. Times are all imputed on things, this is the reason for establishment. Having is the combination or collection of many causes and conditions, even the mere collection of the whole is not real, this is the reason for terminology. Arising from combination or collection is dependent origination, therefore self-nature is non-dual. The other side of having is the five aggregates, which are the real objects of grasping, this is the reason for terminology. The meaning of aggregates is accumulation, accumulation is a mental dharma, and there is no meaning in it, therefore self-nature is non-dual. Here, if "the other side" is said to be the opposite of having that has already been said, it will become non-collection and non-encounter, so it is not said that way, having is the self-nature emptiness of non-real things, so its other side is connected as the emptiness of things. Space is a symbol, it is also the two cessations and suchness, those are all non-real, this is terminology

The reason is that those are, in order, merely being free from tangible objects or obstacles, merely the absence of complete causes for future arising, merely the aspect of what is abandoned by the path, and being designated as empty of the two selves, therefore there is no self-nature. Here, it is said that unconditioned emptiness and non-repetition are spoken of because they are explained from the perspective of the basis and above from the perspective of the definition. Emptiness is the non-perverted nature of all phenomena, which is not newly created by the wisdom and vision of the noble ones, but is empty from the beginning, therefore it is its own nature, and therefore it is called emptiness of its own nature. Thus, that which is not made by knowledge and vision is established as the reason for being self-nature or self-essence, but self-nature is not established as the reason for being empty of self-essence. As it says in the "Entering the Middle Way": "Self-nature and self-essence are both non-existent, that is called emptiness of self-nature, since this is unmade, it is called self-nature, therefore it is said to be self-nature." The sutra also says: "What is emptiness of self-essence? Self-essence is the non-perverted self-nature because it is not made by knowledge and vision. Because there is no constant abiding and no destruction, self-essence is empty of self-essence. Why is that? Because that is its self-nature, this is called emptiness of self-essence." If the self-nature of the phenomena of knowledge and vision is not emptied, then what does it do to it? Knowledge and vision make clear or realize the true and non-perverted meaning. The two, knowledge and vision, are also mentioned in the chapter on destroying harm in the Hundred Thousand Verses: "Knowledge refers to non-conceptual wisdom. Vision refers to the pure worldly wisdom that arises after non-conceptual wisdom." In the "Sunlight Treatise," it is said that vision is mentioned to eliminate inferential knowledge, and knowledge is mentioned to eliminate deluded vision, therefore it is considered to be both direct perception and non-delusion. This and emptiness of self-nature do not repeat because of the difference between brevity and elaboration. The other-nature of phenomena, the sutra says: "What is emptiness of other-nature? Even if the Tathagatas appear,

Even if the Buddhas appear or do not appear, the nature of dharmas, the realm of dharma, suchness, and non-other suchness, as well as the ultimate limit, these are always abiding, not made by others. Because there is no constant abiding and destruction, it is empty of that. Why is that? Because its own nature is such. This is called other-emptiness. Thus it is said. Among these, from the nature of dharmas to the unmade, is the basis of emptiness; from constant to its own nature, etc., is showing the reason and the way of emptiness; from "this is" etc., is summarizing the meaning and giving a name. Apply this to all. Here, the term "other-thing" refers to emptiness, which is shown as the most excellent among dharmas, and even if the Buddhas appear or do not appear, it always abides in the state of excellence. Or, "other" refers to the excellent wisdom, and "thing" or "nature" refers to its object. Or, "other" refers to that which is other than samsara, that is, the ultimate true limit that has become transcendent. These appear in the commentary and explanation of the Entering [the Middle Way]. In the Dagden [commentary] it says: "This is sacred, therefore it is also other, and because it is the nature of what is not made by others, this is other-nature, that is, suchness." In short, the way of establishing other-nature is as before, therefore, because it has no self-nature, it shows other-nature emptiness. Previously, suchness was emptiness, and this was shown as the self-nature not made by the noble ones, and then, because it has no self-nature, it shows self-nature emptiness, and this is the difference between the two. If it is said that because sunlight is empty of other agents, it is other-nature emptiness, then how should the statement "the actions of a person who relies on emptiness are only in vain" be understood? "Empty of other agents" does not refer to this way of emptiness, but rather to the fact that its own nature is empty, and therefore it is given the name "other-nature emptiness." Otherwise, it would not be self-empty. The last sentence shows that if emptiness is made by others, then oneself will only be in vain, because this cannot be done by anyone. Regarding this meaning, the Prajnaloka says: In all places, because of being devoid of one's own dharma, therefore devoid of one's own
