It means that because "it" is obstructed by "A," there is no place for the aggregation of causes and conditions, and because "it" has no birth, it also has no destruction. Therefore, because there is no birth and destruction, it is said that the eyes, etc., are empty of "it." In the commentary on the "Entering the Middle Way," it says: The meaning of being permanent and not being destroyed is explained in order as not changing and not being destroyed. The reason why both impermanence and non-destruction occur is that the initial prevention of change is to dispel the idea that it exists temporarily and will eventually be destroyed, so it is said that "it is not destroyed." In the "Subduing Obstacles of the Hundred Thousand," it says: The meaning of not having these two is that there is no permanence or impermanence, therefore, the six senses have no reality in the ultimate truth, otherwise they would become the reality of these two. The latter reason also comes from the same place: The reason for saying "because it is its nature" is that the eye does not have the reality of the eye, which is its nature, and it is not made empty by being destroyed by other causes, which is its meaning. Therefore, the absence of permanent and impermanent reality can be used as a reason for proving the eyes, etc. Similarly, for the remaining nineteen dharmas, the explanations of the two reasons, before and after, should be applied analogously as explained here. The third is inner emptiness. The fourth is because the eyes, etc., are inner dharmas. The external refers to the five objects that the mind does not grasp. The inner and outer refer to the five objects gathered by the basis of the senses, because the mind grasps them, but the senses do not gather them. In the Sutras, the six senses and six objects are taken as inner and outer, and it is said that these two are empty of each other. Here, in the "Sunlight Treatise," it says: For the dharma realm, all three of these discriminations are possible, therefore, for the inner, etc., here, it should be understood as possible. What is said here refers to mental factors, unconditioned dharmas, and form and non-corresponding formations belonging to the dharma realm, which are in order inner, outer, and inner-outer. The way of emptiness of these two and the following is the same as the first, and the names and the reasons for the names are that the three bases of emptiness are in order inner objects, outer objects, and both inner and outer, therefore, for their emptiness, it is also shown as inner emptiness, outer emptiness, and emptiness of both.

The object of emptiness is the understanding that all phenomena are empty, which is the basis of emptiness. Pacifying the clinging to emptiness with this is the reason for the term emptiness. The way of holding this fourth dharma category is in accordance with the root commentary of Madhyāntavibhāga, Aṣṭasāhasrikā, Abhisamayālaṃkāra, and the masters and noble ones. In the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra it says: 'All dharmas are without inherent existence, the wise call it emptiness. This emptiness is also empty, empty by its own nature. What is the emptiness of emptiness? It is said that emptiness is also emptiness. It is taught to reverse the clinging of those who have a mind for emptiness.' The first two lines are the basis of emptiness, then the next two are the way of emptiness, then the next two are the reason for naming it, and the last two are the necessity of explaining it as emptiness. The sutra also says: 'The emptiness of all dharmas is said to be the basis of emptiness,' so this, as said in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra, is to reverse the clinging to the truth of emptiness, so this basis of emptiness is reasonable. Direction is the ten directions, such as east, because its shape is very large, so it is called its emptiness. The path of liberation from sorrow, Nirvana, is to make Nirvana consistent with the basis of the path, which is the ultimate truth of attainment. In the sutras, the Sunlight Commentary, and the Ornament of Clear Realization, Nirvana itself is explained. In the two commentaries, because it is only separation. This statement is appropriate if it is connected as the reason why both permanence and impermanence cannot be established, and the meaning of separation is that the path only destroys the part to be abandoned. Born from conditions is the three realms, because it is not established in one extreme, so it can be transformed into an antidote, which is the reason for the term. The other of the conditioned is the unconditioned, which is not born, does not change from arising, ceasing, and abiding, and is devoid of arising, etc., which are the opposite of those characteristics, which is the reason for the term. Transcending the extreme is transcending the extreme because it is empty of the extremes of permanence and annihilation, and is separated from the two extremes. The reason for establishing the extreme or part is that it is not established at all in the dependent center, which is the reason for the term. In the pure possession, it is an explanation of the enjoyment body. Beginningless is the cycle of existence that is separated from beginning, end, and center, which is that the beginning and so on arise according to the nature of phenomena, or as the nature of phenomena.
