It is also called the basis of mantras. Third, after attaining the bodhisattva grounds, one is able to simultaneously hold in mind the countless aspects of the Dharma that the Buddhas of the ten directions have revealed, which one has never heard before. Fourth, one is able to hold the meaning of the Dharma in such a sequence. In this way, when one realizes all Dharmas by relying on letters such as A, those dharanis of mindfulness arise, so they are called the doors of dharani. Second, among the three dharanis that one can obtain through the ripening of previous lives' practice, even without special effort in this life; or that one can quickly hold many Dharma words and meanings by striving in listening and thinking in this life; and that one can hold through the power of meditative concentration, the first two are small and the latter is large. Among them, the small one is for those who have not entered the grounds and are in the stage of aspiration and conduct; the medium one is for the seven impure grounds; and the large one is for the three pure grounds. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Ripening, habituation to hearing, and dharanis of concentration are small and large, and the large one is also threefold." Third, as it says in the same text: "Bodhisattvas again and again, relying well on that, always the excellent Dharma, they explain and hold well." Like this, one holds oneself and explains to others. Fourth, in the Destruction of the Three Harms, it says: The previously mentioned dharani, which has become the nature of patience, is the cause of past perfections and is obtained on the ground of aspiration and conduct. The other three dharanis are obtained on the first ground and so on, after the first of countless eons has passed. What is said here is that what is obtained through concentration is from the point of view of dharani; aspiration and conduct are for both the accumulation and preparation stages, the former being the cause of patience and the latter being the dharani of that cause. Ripening and habituation to hearing are also present in those who have not entered the path. The stage of realization of obtaining dharani is that the later qualities are the basis of the earlier ones, so from then on it is the grounds; the grounds, which are the nature of seeing and meditation, become retinues due to the distinction of the stages of abandoning what is to be abandoned by each, so from then on the retinue is taught. Second, to accomplish. Where? The meaning of the Great Vehicle, the generation of bodhicitta, and so on, all of it.

So, how is it? Just by realizing that in the ultimate and conventional truths, the object to be accomplished and the means to accomplish it are unattainable, one focuses and practices like an illusion, and thus does not transcend the conventional truth. Some people think that because the object to be meditated upon, etc., cannot be obtained or does not exist in the ultimate truth, examining or establishing the objects to be meditated upon, etc., in the conventional truth is for the purpose of not transcending the conventional truth; and including not transcending the conventional truth within the scope of the definition is meaningless. Because, there are seventeen from love to antidote. As it is said in the Ornament of Realization: "In the order as described above, without transcending the conventional and ultimate truths, all the Great Vehicle is subsequently accomplished by compassion and so on." This negates some people who make compassion etc. into seventeen accumulations to be accomplished, and then separately explain the seventeen methods of accomplishing these accumulations. Third, great compassion etc. are accumulations, because these seventeen compassion etc. hold or bring forth great Bodhi. Accumulation is called Sambhara (Tibetan: སཾ་བྷ་ར་,梵文天城体:संभार,梵文罗马拟音:saṃbhāra,汉语字面意思:Accumulation), Sam (Tibetan: སཾ་,梵文天城体:सं,梵文罗马拟音:saṃ,汉语字面意思:Completely) is complete accomplishment, Bha (Tibetan: བྷ་,梵文天城体:भा,梵文罗马拟音:bhā,汉语字面意思:Essence) is essence, Ra (Tibetan: ར་,梵文天城体:रा,梵文罗马拟音:rā,汉语字面意思:Holding) is holding, in short, because it is the essence that makes the great Bodhi completely accomplished. The way of holding as a result is also because compassion etc. accomplish all the Great Vehicle through the gate of the two truths. Some texts say that "the essence of accomplishment" is incorrect, because the Sunlight Commentary says: "These dharmas of compassion etc. are called accumulations because of the meaning of the essence that makes perfect Bodhi completely accomplished." Fourth, the accomplishment of accumulation is the basis of division. The division is seventeen. The reason is that the seventeen from compassion to antidote are accumulations. This definite number is like what was made by the noble one, and the teachers and Shantipa, Abhayaradakira, and Buddhashri also hold this view. In the Commentary on Valid Cognition, "What are the path and the ten grounds?" was not covered by Dharani words in the root text, but in the commentary, it is led into the path accumulation, and the emptiness of one's own essence is made the reason for the emptiness of the essence of others, and then it is said that twenty-one accumulations are incomplete, which is not in accordance with any sutra or shastra, and is merely a sutra text of emptiness.
