Thus it is explained, but the great masters such as the Great Self and Ar (Atiśa), see that the previous explanation is appropriate. The connection of the Sutra: Who asked? The Blessed One, that is a sentient being who needs great armor. Blessed One, that is a sentient being who has truly entered the Great Vehicle. That is a sentient being who truly abides in the Great Vehicle, therefore he is called Mahabodhi for his sake. Thus, who explains the reason for establishing him as a great bodhisattva? Who is Shariputra asking: How much armor is put on? The answer to that question. This is for the sake of ease, or from the word "all" onwards, it should be regarded as a connection of only a little armor. The second is: Explain. Where? Armor, etc. Where from? From the Mother Sutra. How? From the gate of the six divisions of six groups, the six of giving and so on are complete as they are. How is it done? The collection is giving, and the six forms between etc. and wisdom, that is, the collection is six, and the way of collecting them separately, that is, each collection is six. In this way, the old translation is very good, but in the new translation, if it is said that they are separate, then there is no need for the above. The third has two: division and collection. The first has two: the division of giving into six and the display of the rest being the same as it. The first is: to show the meaning of the Dharma and to give by writing scriptures and so on, the Dharma giving, and the fearless giving of protecting from the fear of becoming a life-threatening obstacle, and the wealth of wealth, grain, etc., giving with the purity of the three wheels, that is, giving any of the three, when dwelling in the armor of giving, the attention of the hearers, only self-taming, such as and the discipline of abandoning those of the solitary realizer, and the unpleasant scolding spoken by all people such as beggars, the patience of not being angry, and the diligence of generating a strong desire to desire virtue, and the meditation of focusing the mind on omniscience, which is different from the vehicle of hearers and solitary realizers, and the wisdom of dedicating without attachment to complete enlightenment, etc., and possessing them, then the object of giving and etc.

Therefore, one practices with the armor of realizing the emptiness of the three spheres of giver, gift, and receiver. The order is to add the emptiness of the three spheres at the end of each one. In the Sunlight Sutra and the Ornament Sutra, dedicating the roots of virtue with a single-pointed mind that is not mixed with other vehicles is meditation, and abiding closely in the perception of illusion, combining the emptiness of the three spheres with wisdom. In both the Subduing and Destroying Sutras, giving alms, and also dedicating it to enlightenment in common with sentient beings, is the armor of generosity, and at that time, enduring the emptiness of the three spheres, and at that time, the generosity dedicated for the benefit of sentient beings increases diligence, and at that time, contemplating the combination of dedicating to enlightenment relying on the conventional truth and having no object of focus relying on the ultimate truth, that is, the emptiness of the three spheres, is said to be the armor of wisdom. The other two are the same. This is clear in the sutras. Secondly, just as one accomplishes generosity with the six perfections complete, so too one protects the discipline with the six perfections complete. Likewise, apply it to the others as well. In these, in the Eight Thousand Stanza Prajnaparamita Sutra, the remaining five are applied to this, giving alms, and also dedicating it to enlightenment in common with sentient beings is the generosity of all, the three of discipline, patience, and diligence are the same, for omniscience, dedicating the roots of virtue with a single-pointed mind is meditation, and these five do not become arrogant and do not fixate are said to be wisdom, in the Twenty-five Thousand Stanza Prajnaparamita Sutra, it is said that the wisdom of all five is dedicated, and the others are like the Eight Thousand Stanza Prajnaparamita Sutra. The giving of these is abiding in one's own nature and placing it in the nature of others. Secondly, as previously explained, each of the generosity and so forth individually includes the six perfections of generosity and so forth, so if explained extensively, there are thirty-six armors in six sets of six, but if summarized, there are six ways of accomplishing armor. The reason is that the six perfections of generosity and so forth are of the same dharma nature. How are they the same? Some say that the six kinds of generosity are generosity, and likewise the six kinds of wisdom are the same there, however, the six perfections that rely on generosity arise from generosity and depend on practice, so separating them is because they arise from one cause and are the same, so they are of the same dharma nature, as explained in the Clear Words Commentary, and apply it to the others as well.
