Because understanding the three is an adornment, it is what is to be proven. Third, when hearing, thinking, and meditating, relying on this, reach the ultimate, the wisdom of the Thus-Gone One, whose other name is Prajñāpāramitā, is obtained. When this is obtained, the desires of the individual are fulfilled, so there is no need to seek other necessities. These three are indicated sequentially by the proposition, the third line, and the first line. Fourth is the treatise and the necessity, or the two necessities are connected by cause and effect, which is through implication. The so-called "what is expressed by words is phrases, what is expressed by meaning is the Buddhas, the root meaning is well shown as necessary, and becoming an adornment for others to be tamed is the ultimate necessity," thus establishing one's own system. Others think that showing the meaning of the phrases well, which becomes an adornment, is necessary. From this, knowing the meaning of the Buddhas without remainder, from the time of knowing until the non-abiding Nirvana, is the necessity of necessity. Such speculation, only by the commentary itself cannot be established, if the root text itself is the main, the following will also be explained, so it is unreasonable. Such an explanation is even more unreasonable. If it cannot be established by the commentary alone, then it is not its ultimate necessity, and the non-abiding Nirvana will also become non-root. The root and commentary have the same ultimate necessity, which is not contradictory. This is the fault of refuting other systems. There is also a fault in establishing one's own system, showing the phrases well is making a good commentary, and making a commentary should not become the necessity of making a commentary. As the commentary shows, others understand as an adornment, which is the necessity of making a commentary. Therefore, becoming an adornment is the necessity of making a commentary, etc., among the four dharmas, it is unreasonable to explain only with the ultimate necessity. Therefore, the previous statement is more beautiful. Second, if you write a commentary that becomes an adornment for all, how do you know that it is an adornment for all? As an answer to this question, "It is known from the explanations of the four wise men," and "The proposition to write a classification," are there other commentaries on the Abhisamayalankara?

If not, among the two ways of connecting that show "there is" as an answer, here it is explained following the former. There are four points in this. First, the way of explaining by Asanga is to directly say that he "made a commentary." With what (did he make the commentary)? Although it is explained that he (made the commentary) with the great treatise that collects all the meanings of the Prajnaparamita Sutra, that is, the Ornament for Clear Realization, it is said that the two venerable brothers did not combine the Ornament with the Sutra, but explained fragmentary scriptures, so in the "Clear Words" it says that the treatise is: that which subdues all the enemies of afflictions, that which protects from the cycle of bad destinies, because it has the virtues of subduing and protecting, therefore it is a treatise, these two are not in other schools. In terms of such a definition, it is a treatise. That is also the particularly excellent mother of the Buddhas. Thus, it is a scripture. Or, even if the treatise and the scripture are not combined, it refers to the fact that the content expressed by the two is the same. With what (does he protect)? As it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, the Holy Asanga, the protector himself, proclaimed the path he had seen, so he shows the path he has seen to others, so he is a protector, this is certain. Relying on what cause does he protect? Relying on attachment to the five types of beings, that is, love like that of the great Bodhisattvas, universally attached, that is, even more loving compassion. Then what kind of difference in qualities does this teacher possess? In the Root Tantra of Manjushri it says: "The monk named Asanga, that treatise is extremely proficient in meaning, the definitive and provisional meanings of the Sutra Pitaka, he will clearly distinguish various differences, the master of worldly knowledge, he will become one who reveals the teachings." It also says: "In order to make the teachings last long, he will collect the true meaning of the Sutra, he will live for one hundred and fifty years, after his body is destroyed, he will go to the heavenly realm." And in the Auto-commentary of the Ornament for the Middle Way and the Opening of the Precious Casket of Essential Instructions of the Middle Way and the Clear Words, it is said that he has attained the third ground. In the Accompanying Essential Instructions it says: "The mother of the King of Sages, from this protector Maitreya, the Holy Path is obtained, he is called Asanga, whatever meaning he obtains, I will connect it." It also says that the Holy Asanga, with compassion, for the sake of the survival of sentient beings, even cut and gave away all the flesh and blood of all limbs and details.
