Regarding the methods of certainty, there are two methods: certainty through reading and certainty through direct perception. The first is: First, it is necessary to ascertain by knowing the four characteristics of suffering. For this, it is necessary to understand the consequences of understanding impermanence and suffering, and the reasons for generating the complete characteristic of renunciation, it is necessary to understand emptiness and selflessness, and to analyze the system of the Four Noble Truths from the truth of suffering itself, and the way to prove selflessness. The first point is: Understanding impermanence leads to the realization that it is unreliable, and understanding suffering leads to the generation of desire for results. If someone asks, then does the truth of the path also become unreliable? The answer is, this is from the perspective of the ultimate attainment of one's own benefit, so it is desirable. As it is said in the scriptures, "In the realm of Nirvana, even the dharmas themselves should be abandoned, let alone the non-dharmas?" Therefore, for these, it must be permanent. The second point is: If emptiness and selflessness are not understood, then as it was said before, "Whoever sees self". Because self-grasping naturally draws the main obstacle of renunciation, craving, by its own power. Just as aversion arises when a thorn is stuck in the foot, but pursuit arises for a foot without a thorn. Aversion arises for the suffering of suffering, but for some differences in the suffering of conditioning, it is mistaken for liberation and clung to as one's own attainment. The third point is: The contaminated dharma with four characteristics is the truth of suffering, establishing purity etc. upon it is its origin, therefore, renouncing from the object and realizing impermanence etc. is its path, and abandoning the four perverted views through practicing it is its cessation. Regarding this, there are generally sixteen cravings, the first four of suffering are: craving for self, craving for things desired by self, craving for the method of accomplishing it, and craving for not being separated from that method and obtaining what has not been obtained. These are the perverted recognitions of the nature of the aggregate of suffering. The perverted recognition of its cause, the origin, is: thinking there is no cause, and thinking that incompatible things are the cause. For the latter there are three: thinking it is made by only one cause, and

It is believed that pre-existing causes lead to change, and that wisdom like that of Ishvara acts in advance. There are also four inverted thoughts regarding cessation: the belief that liberation does not exist at all, that even if it exists, it does not pacify the contaminated, that the desired object is not excellent, and that even if it is excellent, it is not eternally the best. There are also four inverted thoughts regarding the path: the belief that the path to liberation does not exist at all, that the wisdom that realizes selflessness is a bad path to liberation, that it cannot truly realize the reality of objects, and that it is not eternally the cause of liberation. The fourth is clinging to the self to be refuted, and your reasons for refuting it, etc. First, it is not just the person that should be refuted, because then the one who accumulates karma and the one who experiences the ripening of karma would also be refuted, and therefore the refuter itself would cease to exist. Therefore, for the collection and continuity of aggregates, it is not merely an imputation, but an independent person. Second, there is the form of establishing a thesis, establishing a reason, and eliminating others. In both the internal and external schools of thought in noble India, there is no such realization. When establishing that valid cognition is limited to two, direct perception and inference, if one explains by which valid cognition the subject of the self-general two is established, then most of the former ones say that the mind's clear appearance of objects and the unclear appearance, etc., are accomplished by the self-awareness direct perception that is implicitly realized. Even so, the signs such as the certainty of being able to function or not are merely establishing terms. It should be examined that if the meaning of being certain as the self-general two is established by such self-awareness direct perception, then the imputation of the meaning of the three, which is not the self-general two, must be cut off by that self-awareness. If one also thinks like that, then the self-awareness of the experience of the mind appearing clearly to the object, does not measure the appearance of the mind appearing unclearly to the object, either directly or indirectly, and for other imputations, it does not cut off either directly or indirectly, and the other one also does not measure it in the same way, how can it cut off the imputation of the three that are not two? If it is said that these two intellects rely on each other and cut off by the action of both, then through the action of these two self-awarenesses, it is also implied that there are two ways of appearing, the clear appearance of the object and the unclear appearance, and it is non-dual.
