Because it is impossible to establish with the power of direct perception, because on individual white dharmas, both producing happiness and producing suffering cannot be established with the power of direct perception. It is also impossible to establish contradiction with trustworthy inference, because when establishing the property of the trustworthy reason, that doubt must be eliminated. Therefore, if there is no such contradiction between before and after and contradiction between appearance and force, then it is also unreasonable to establish the words of the Bhagavan with valid cognition, there is no fault, because on a blue basis, when it is determined by direct perception that producing happiness and not producing happiness are directly contradictory, on the basis of white dharma, the doubt that those two may exist on the same basis is also eliminated, and when there is doubt in the mind whether those two exist on the basis of white dharma, the power of the previous valid cognition can determine that it is impossible, but the power of direct perception cannot determine that those two are contradictory on that basis. In this way, bathing purifies sins, and saying that attachment etc. are the root of sins, it will also not be possible to show internal contradiction, if you say so, there is no fault, because after bathing, the attachment etc. of one's own mind-stream, which is the cause of sins, does not decrease, this is established by direct perception. The scriptures purified by the three examinations, which are established as reasons, do not show the same basis, but because they are one aspect of the scriptures purified by the three examinations, they are established as that scripture, therefore, giving brings enjoyment, law brings happiness. That scripture does not have the fault of excessively showing the three places. Third, whether the scripture itself is not deceptive to what it explains is what is established, and it must be promised that it is harmful to the opposite side, therefore all the established reasons will become meaningless, if you say so, the answer to this is, refuting the idea that a trustworthy reason cannot exist. Even if it is admitted, it also refutes the idea that it is another combination. It shows the difference between the scripture becoming harmful and obstructive, and if the three aspects are established by the power of direct perception, then it refutes the argument that it cannot be a trustworthy reason. First, if trustworthiness cannot become valid cognition, then the existence of extremely hidden things, it is unreasonable for those with discrimination to make a promise. Even if it is not established by valid cognition, the promise will not become discriminatory, because without it, what can distinguish between things and non-things? As it is said.

I pursue worldly benefits, even to the point of falling into doubt. As it is said, doubt also becomes a factor for falling in. If it is said that for those with conceptual minds, it is not necessary to establish validity through valid cognition as a factor for falling in, then its meaning is: valid cognition can prevent existent things from merely remaining on the edge of possibility; and the doubt that arises from the transformation of meaning of non-existent things merely remaining on the edge of possibility is assumed to be the autonomy of nominal valid cognition. If it were not so, when asking whether meditative formlessness and so on exist or not, it would become reasonable to rebuke by saying "eating doubt," which would be unreasonable. Secondly, generosity and other virtuous dharmas, as the subject of dharma, happiness arises from your practice, because the Tathagata has spoken thus in pure scripture. It is also unreasonable to consider this as a reason, because when the subject of dharma is established, what is to be established is already established. Sound is impermanent, because I have said so, this must also be considered a correct reason. It is also unreasonable to present a statement that agrees with the meaning as a reason, because if it is determined, what is to be established is also determined. In this way, for you, it would be necessary to accept the previous correct reason that is considered desirable, which shows that conditioned phenomena are impermanent. If it is said that such a situation is impossible, because when it is determined to be pure through three examinations, the scripture that shows conditioned phenomena to be impermanent has already been established as not deceiving what is to be shown. In this way, both of these systems are flawed, because the scripture that is considered valid cognition and is purified by three examinations, when shown on some basis to be a valid means of proof that does not deceive what is to be shown, and is a harmful agent to the opposite side, if it is a scripture purified by three examinations, then showing such a pervasion is mistaken, just as when showing that what is made is a valid means of proof that sound is impermanent, it is mistaken to assume that whatever is made is universally pervaded by impermanence. Since it is not considered valid cognition, the manifestations of the scripture purified by three examinations, when shown to be the valid means of proof of what it expresses, and an obstacle to the opposite side, if it is a scripture purified by three examinations, then it is mistaken to think that it universally possesses this nature, just as when showing that the manifestations of what is made cannot be a valid means of proof that sound is impermanent, it is assumed that whatever is made universally possesses this nature. Thirdly, the view that scriptures are the valid means of proof of the meaning they express, and are harmful agents to the opposite side, is a harmful agent.
