If someone else knows and says that, then if one has not seen it oneself or others, it will become without consciousness. If there is no consciousness, since there is no basis for distinction, it becomes meaningless to judge whether the distinguishing characteristics are clear or not, just like a barren widow saying that her posture is meaningless. If the opponent admits that consciousness is not established by other entities, and the Madhyamika proves that it is not established by itself, then that fault would apply, and that fault would revert and apply to the Madhyamika as well. If one argues that one (consciousness is not established by other entities) is admitted by oneself, and the other (consciousness is not established by itself) is proven by the realist, then the fault applies. Then, that fault does not apply to the Madhyamika. If the realist thinks that (consciousness) is clear, then (the Madhyamika) admits that (consciousness) is universally clear by either oneself or others, so the fault applies. The Madhyamika thinks that although it is clear like a lamp, it does not admit that it is clear by itself or others, so there is no fault. To refute the establishment of self-awareness by the sign of memory, expressing the intention is "if" and so on, two lines. That is, there is experience, because there is memory, and by proving, on the experience, blocking the experience of others, thereby proving one's own experience, and then establishing self-awareness. The recognition and proof methods of these should be learned in detail from epistemology. Therefore, if there is no self-awareness, how can there be memory? Because memory arises from experience. The answer to this is "other" and so on, two lines. That is, connect "memory arises from other experiences." Even without self-awareness, there is a reason for memory to arise from experience. That is, from the knowledge of the subject, experiencing other things, such as blue, etc., thereby generating memory of it. At that time, not only will that thing be remembered, but also the memory of the subject will arise. If that is the case, then the memory of others will be too excessive. Connect "memory arises from relationship." There is no fault of being so excessive. Because at the time of such memory, from the relationship of object, subject, basis of distinction, and distinguishing characteristics, the memory of the subject will arise. Or, the meaning of "from relationship" is that both experience and memory are part of my or my subject, so "I experienced, so I remember," etc., will arise, so one should know that this memory is not in others, etc. For example, in winter, although one experiences the tactile sensation of a mouse biting, one does not feel the poison entering at that time. When hearing the sound of thunder, the mouse's poison flares up, causing great suffering.

Just like recalling being poisoned while farming before, it's like recalling being poisoned. Poison and the object-possessing consciousness, as well as the tactile sensation of farming and the object, should be combined like examples. Refuting others to establish self-awareness: Take the four lines starting with "cause" as an example. If one possesses other causes such as destruction, formation, abiding, purification, etc., then since the mind of extremely distant kalpas can be known and seen by clairvoyance, the mind that is near is very clear itself. For example, if one sees a distant needle, one can see a nearby mountain. If someone says: Applying the prepared eye medicine to the eyes allows one to see treasures such as underground vases, but one cannot see the medicine itself. At that time, the eye medicine will be seen, because one can see treasures such as underground vases. Furthermore, in the commentary, the vase would become eye medicine, which is a negation of self-awareness. Therefore, it is clear that this teacher does not even accept the establishment of self-awareness in name without adding distinctions to self-awareness. If self-awareness is accepted, how does consciousness become memory? In response to this question, it is not necessary to say "from being related to the experience of others" etc., it is enough to say "because it is the reason of self-awareness." If it is said that without self-awareness, there is no memory, therefore there will be no experiencing objects, seeing, hearing, etc., then take the four lines starting with "how" as an example. Here, it is not a negation of the objects, seeing, hearing, etc. of the six consciousnesses, because there is no need to negate these. Merely these do not create suffering, because Arhats also have these terms. It is impossible to negate, if one wants to negate, one must negate with scripture and reasoning, if one negates these, then scripture and reasoning will also be negated in the same way. If one negates, there will be faults, because it will become annihilation and exaggeration. Therefore, here one should prevent the thought of grasping as true those objects that have become the cause of suffering. Take the two lines starting with "mind" as an example. Others say: Because there is no external object, the mind is an illusion, form etc. are not other things, who sees what with what at that time before? Because such a fault would arise, one should not think that these two are not other things either. If form etc. are objects, then how is it not other than the mind, that is, it is other, because the definitions of these two are not the same. If it is not other, then, one consciousness has many forms
