And it is not considered to be mind, etc. Nor can mind be found apart from those. The summary of the point is: Whatever, etc. Whatever is the body and different from the body does not exist. Mixture refers to what is grasped by the senses, but whose essence is not mind, i.e., the physical body of sentient beings. And apart from it and that, there is nothing that is established by its own essence. Therefore, there is nothing that is truly established. Therefore, all sentient beings are liberated from suffering by their very nature, which is free from all true elaborations. To point out the faults by examining the knowable is: Knowable, etc. Consciousness is the subject, it is not truly existent, because the knowable is not established prior to and simultaneously with the object. Nor is it established by its own nature after the knowable. The establishment of the first two reasons is: Because it is admitted that the knowable is the cause and consciousness is the result. Because it does not exist, it has no power before, etc., to refute. The latter reason is: As stated in the Ornament of the Middle Way, whether the previous moment is destroyed or not, in whichever case it arises, there are two possibilities for the non-destroyed case: contact and non-contact. In the case of non-contact, if it arises from a state of complete non-contact, then due to the confusion of time, the kalpa would also become a single moment. If it arises from a state of partial non-contact, then it would become part-having, so it is refuted by the reasoning that refutes the true establishment of part-having and partless. Alternatively, if the object and consciousness, as agent and object, are established by their own characteristics, then these two must be agent and object at all times, so even at the time when consciousness arises, they must be agent and object. If the object ceases and does not exist at the time when consciousness arises, then from where does this consciousness arise? Thus, it is refuted by pursuing the object to be refuted. In conventional terms, later consciousness is not refuted. The mindfulness of Dharma is: Thus, etc., two lines. Above, it was said that if consciousness exists before the knowable, then by examining the before and after of the object and the object-possessor, the true establishment of consciousness is refuted. In this way, the arising of all dharmas, such as feeling, discrimination, compositional factors, and consciousness aggregates, which have not been previously explained, and non-conditioned phenomena, is not a true realization, because if there is no true arising, then conditioned phenomena are not completely established. As it is said, therefore, unconditioned phenomena are also not truly existent. To this, in order to dispel other arguments, in order to dispel being too extreme, first, the statement of being too extreme is, if, etc., four lines. If previously, true establishment was refuted by examining the before and after of the object and the object-possessor, then in this way, it is considered to be established conventionally

For other schools, there is the same fault. If there is no conventional truth, then how can there be two truths without it? Or, if you object, if the truly established is negated, then does the cause produce the effect or not? If it produces, then that is called true, so negating the truly established is just a name. If it does not produce, even if it does not exist in the ultimate truth, it exists in the conventional truth. But even such a conventional truth does not exist. If there is no conventional truth, how can there be two truths there? Your conventional truth is only considered by other sentient beings to be conventional truth. Because things are not established, just like mistaking a patterned rope for a snake, how can sentient beings be liberated from suffering? Therefore, it would lead to not being able to attain liberation. If so, then establishing a view for the sake of liberation becomes meaningless. The answer is: This is etc. This conventional truth is only posited by the deluded minds of other beings, and it is not truly existent. This is not the conventional truth of the Madhyamaka school itself. If it were, then that fault would apply. One's own school is that after realizing the view, if one can determine that conventional truth exists, then conventional truth exists. If not, then there is no conventional truth. Furthermore, the subject that apprehends and the object to be apprehended are mutually established and mutually dependent, so they are not truly existent. Just as it is said in the scriptures: 'The agent depends on the action,' etc. Therefore, just as it is said in the world, all establishments that are made based on names without careful examination are expressions. To avoid infinite faults, the fault that is presented is: Whenever, etc., four lines. Whenever one analyzes phenomena by means of analysis and examines the absence of inherent existence, then the mind that analyzes does not belong to the object being analyzed. Therefore, does that mind also need to be analyzed? If not, then other objects of analysis are the same. If it is needed, then the mind that analyzes also needs other analyzers, so it would become an infinite fault. If the analyzer is truly established, then it must rely on a truly established basis that corresponds to its mode of apprehension. Because all analyses are analyzed, inherent existence is absent, so analysis does not have a true basis. Because there is no basis, it does not arise from inherent existence.
