This is to dispel the doubt of becoming a non-perception. Although it is very important to complete the meaning of the commentary words explaining these, and to explain the scrutiny of the words, considering the wisdom of the current listeners, I am afraid that it will be like pouring the four great rivers into a small pond, and because the book is too big, I am afraid, so I did not write in detail, but only said a little bit of the key points of the meaning. The first of these is that, in reason, the so-called "perception" refers to the re-statement of the basis of the name, that is, what is expressed by perception, the most famous knowledge that makes perception a perception, is non-conceptual and non-erroneous. And so on, the meaning of these extensive statements is that, in the way of explaining the establishment of categories as names and referents, and the re-statement of referents and the establishment of definitions, the great translators and teachers, in detail, expounded the unreasonableness of Dharmakirti's own established sect, and the unreasonableness of the refutations of the sects of Shantarakshita and others, and the predecessors who thought that Dharmakirti's sect was reasonable, also in the way of establishing categories, admitted that way, all those were only doing refutations and establishments without understanding Dharmakirti's views. That is to say, Master Dharmakirti believes that perception and non-conceptual non-erroneous knowledge are established as categories here, but not the knowledge that clings in the way of making things appear as the establisher of perception, because that does not pervade non-conceptual non-erroneous, otherwise, the erroneous root consciousness here is not perception, and those that Dharmakirti himself extensively established would also become the fault of being established on the path of consciousness. Therefore, the meaning of the word perception is only "because it makes things appear, it is perception", and its basis of name, such as the root consciousness of taking form, etc., has been proven by practitioners, etc., but, because it is thought that the definition of those is not established without distinction, and it is mistakenly thought to be distinction, therefore, for the knowledge that he himself has already established that makes things appear, or the basis of the name such as the eye consciousness of taking form, after the establishment, it is re-stated, in order to establish the definition that is not established on its basis, when saying, the re-statement of the referent or the basis of the name

It is said that this is about the establishment of the sound and characteristics. In the Valid Cognition (Pramanavarttika), for what reason is the knowledge that manifests perfectly accomplished, and able to know the non-conceptual, etc., which are not known by wrong conceptions? Therefore, the manifestation that has become known is itself described by the word "direct perception," and the characteristic of the unknown is to establish knowledge. Therefore, it can be known from the explanation that has been eliminated. In the Valid Cognition, the refutation of Shantarakshita's view in this context is: Shantarakshita believes that the statement in the Compendium on Valid Cognition (Tattvasamgraha), "Direct perception is free from conceptualization and non-erroneous," is explaining what the meaning of this name is, and what the name of this meaning is, and connects the name and meaning of direct perception. This is to refute this view. However, this method is not appropriate, because in general, this is discussing the number of valid cognitions, etc., and especially to eliminate wrong conceptions about direct perception having conceptualization and error. This is universally present, because when connecting the name and the referent, the referent has not yet been established, and there is no need to show the connection between the name and the referent without eliminating the wrong conceptions about the characteristics. This is an actual obstacle, and since the remaining additional meanings would become cumbersome, they have not been written. The second point is to show the necessity of approaching the characteristics. In the Valid Cognition, it says, "Here, distinguishing other characteristics is not the purpose, but rather to eliminate wrong conceptions." etc. In short, its meaning is as follows: In general, there are two functions of characteristics, namely, excluding different categories and eliminating wrong conceptions. Here, mentioning both the non-conceptual and non-erroneous characteristics is not for the purpose of distinguishing different categories, but rather for the purpose of eliminating wrong conceptions. If viewed from the perspective of different categories, since it has been proven that the general characteristic of a new non-deceptive valid cognition has been added to that basis, then merely by being established as correct knowledge, the non-valid cognitions of different categories have already been excluded. Based on correct knowledge, what is to be excluded by mentioning non-conceptual is inference itself, and what is to be excluded by mentioning non-erroneous is also inference itself, because based on correct knowledge, what is conceptual is only inference, and what is erroneous is only inference. Therefore, the correct
