Not only is it not admitted in one's own system that the meaning is the same, but also the constant cessation and destruction of color, and the destruction in the second moment, cannot be admitted in one's own system as being established by inference. This is because the way its destruction is established by direct perception is very contradictory to what was said above. In the system where the impermanence of color is the substance of color, by what valid cognition is the impermanence of color established? Furthermore, even if it is admitted that destruction and annihilation have the same meaning, in the course of explaining why a third valid cognition is not necessary, the refutation of the views on impermanence of the logicians is as follows: In the system of any logician, impermanence is not a substance other than color, and it is not appropriate to apply the sixth case ending of "the impermanence of color" to any non-entity that is the destruction of color, because in grammar, it is said that the sixth case ending is for distinct entities. For example, the sixth case ending is only applied to distinct entities such as Devadatta and pills. Therefore, the impermanence of color is a substance other than color. Moreover, it would follow that the sky and so on are also impermanent, so mere existence is not impermanence. However, in what is existent in the middle bounded by two extremes, the existence is distinct, and for that existence, the establishment of a relationship of combination, the sound that has the nature of expressing that is said to be the very sound that expresses impermanence. In the commentary of the gods, it is good to have or not have the word "or" in "cessation existence." According to their system, if asked what those extremes refer to, if they answer that they are the two of what did not exist before and what does not exist after, then ask, why are those two extremes not its impermanence? If they answer that the two of what did not exist before and what does not exist after are non-entities, so the sixth case ending of "the impermanence of a thing" and the seventh case ending of the locus of "impermanence exists in a thing" and so on cannot be applied, then refute, then how can the sixth case ending of the non-existence of a thing before and the non-existence of a thing after be valid for those two extremes? Because those two are not things. The dharma that has existence itself and a relationship of combination, it would not follow that those two extremes make it distinct, because it is permanent. The sign is clearly admitted. If they answer that the two of cause and effect are the extremes, then the dharma that makes it distinct, cause and effect, would also become non-existent, because there is no relationship with what did not exist before and a thing.

It is so. The reason is admitted. Because the rationalist does not want things to be newly produced before. Therefore, for the rationalist, the statement of impermanence distinguished by the two causes and effects is also not established. Because the distinguishing dharmas do not exist. The newly produced fruit that did not exist before is not admitted. Because the sprout has already existed from before, it meets and combines with its own cause, the seed, so it is called a cause. As it is said in the explanation of the gods, existence itself combines with its own cause, so it is a cause. As such, it is good that there is only one "self" word in the first sentence. Then, from where does this meeting and combination of the two produce the fruit that it makes itself? It is not, because the meeting and combination of the sprout that existed from before with the seed is also constant. If the meeting and combination of the seed and the sprout is made by someone who did not exist before, then it contradicts your own promise, like this. The things of soil and sprout, the meeting and combination did not exist before, relying on the author and later having, is not allowed in your system, because you do not admit newly produced relations. Therefore, in your system, this whole thing will become constant. The distinction of things like me being constant, and the distinction of impermanent things distinguished by existence limited by two margins, will no longer exist. It is necessary to exert the power of the words "having" and "this whole". Therefore, the rationalist thinks that impermanence is combined with other things, the statement that the words of the impermanence of sound and so on enter consciousness is refuted, and it is established that sound and its impermanence and so on are not different things. Therefore, although it appears to oneself, it does not exist in meaning, but it is added to the meaning, that is, through the way of imputation, in the way that the appearance and imputation appear as one, the mind that appears as different, such as the expressed sound and impermanence, is dependent on the different reversals of the two being in different reversal places. Moreover, for those who want to show that there is no different meaning in things, applying different sounds to made, impermanent, etc., is also dependent on the different reversals of those returning from their respective reversal places.
