is the end. Therefore, darkness did not arise in the third instant, and light arose in that place. Thus, gradually, the distant parts of light harmed that assembly, so when the darkness disappears in the third instant, it will suppress that place. It is said that suppressing that place means that the light suppresses the place previously covered by darkness. However, Dharmottara's statement about how to counteract harm and the causal relationship when a lamp gradually enters a dark room only represents one aspect. The way in which the light of a lamp dispels darkness is not exactly the same as this. If the cause of placing a lamp in the center of a dark room is gathered and the lamp is lit, then the first instant when the lamp initially burns arises, and the disappearance of darkness occurs simultaneously, which is obvious. Therefore, the light of the lamp near the door, which is said to be the accompanying cause of the darkness of the last instant that produces weak power, and the last darkness in the room are cause and effect, not mutually exclusive contradictions. Light and darkness are mutually exclusive contradictions, and the light itself that arises in that place at the same time as the last darkness disappears is a mutually exclusive contradiction with darkness. The way in which they contradict is that the arising of light and the disappearance of darkness occur simultaneously in that place. As it says in the Nyāyabindu: Those former and later instants that have become the nature of cause and effect are not contradictory. However, that which is done by light, which is the antecedent of cause and effect, that which cannot connect a later instant with another instant, that is the contradiction. It is that which cuts off the continuity of darkness. The meaning of what is said should also be understood in this way. Some say that the teacher Dharmottara believes that the time of counteracting the harm of mutually exclusive contradictions is uncertain. Some say that Dharmottara did not say that. However, the thought of those who say that he said it is uncertain is that in the Nyāyabindu it says: Therefore, for the remedy of anyone, if it is so quick, then in the third instant it will remedy it. It is said

Therefore, the word "if fast" indicates that the reversal of the harm to be eliminated in the third moment depends on the speed. It is thought that if it is slow, then there are cases where it does not reverse even in the third moment, thus indicating uncertainty. Therefore, those who believe that the time of reversal of the harm to be eliminated in the third moment is definite in all cases should consider what the meaning of the word "if fast" is. There are many things to say, but I am afraid that there will be too many words, so I have not written them. Secondly, regarding the time of reversal of the harm to be eliminated by the antidote of inner wisdom, there are two types. Among them, the time of reversal of the seeds of the objects to be abandoned, which are the share of the path of no interruption, is: at the time of the last supreme dharma of the path of application, although there are seeds of the objects to be abandoned, which are the share of the forbearance of the dharma of suffering, at the path of seeing, the manifestation of the arising of the forbearance of the dharma of suffering and the manifestation of the cessation of that seed are simultaneous. The arising of the forbearance of the dharma of suffering and the cessation of that seed are simultaneous. Therefore, at the time of the forbearance of the dharma of suffering, there is not even a little bit of the seeds of the objects to be abandoned, which are its share. Moreover, that is because at that time, due to the lack of causes and conditions, one obtains the cessation of non-dependence, but not the cessation of dependence. Because the attainment of the truth of cessation depends on the truth of the path being prior. Moreover, although at the time of the antidote of the path of no interruption, there are no seeds of the objects to be abandoned, which are its share, it is not that they have been abandoned, but that the act of abandoning is being done. The meaning of abandonment is not merely temporary non-arising, but refers to making it impossible for that continuum to ever arise again. The simultaneous occurrence of the abandonment of the seeds of the objects to be abandoned, which are one's own share, by the path of no interruption, such as the forbearance of the dharma of suffering, and the attainment of the path of liberation. Similarly, for the continuum that abides in the wisdom of the limit of existence, even if there is not even a little bit of the seeds of obscurations, it is not that they have been abandoned, but that they are being abandoned. The abandonment of that subtle seed of obscuration and the arising of the first moment of omniscience are simultaneous. Then, the one at the limit of existence is the subject of the proposition, and should be a Buddha, because he is a person who never has the seeds of obscurations in his continuum. Answer: Not pervasive, the one at the limit of existence is the subject of the proposition.
