If it appears like that, how can it become emptiness? etc. If it is said that the nature of the sign, such as smoke, is apprehended by direct perception, and its relation to the probandum is apprehended by the memory following direct perception, then, if direct perception is the apprehension of the sign, the mind apprehending the sign appears as real, which contradicts the emptiness established by oneself. However, if memory is the apprehension of the sign, then it is not a valid cognition, and therefore contradicts the establishment as non-deceptive. Thus it is said, and the Ornament Master's own view is: the sign apprehension of the nature sign is the subsequent inference of the possessor of the sign itself, and the sign apprehension of the effect sign and the mind of the possessor of the sign are different in nature. Among them, for those who are very familiar, the direct perception that apprehends the nature of smoke itself is the sign apprehension. For those who are not familiar, the subsequent inference that determines smoke from the sign where the aggregation of many and the appearance are indistinguishable is the sign apprehension. Therefore, merely apprehending the nature of the sign is the sign apprehension, while apprehending the relation is not the sign apprehension, so it is explained. The view of Master Dharmottara is: as it is explained that apprehending on the basis of the relation of 'produced is impermanent' is not considered the mind of sign apprehension, therefore it does not satisfy the former view. Merely apprehending the relation of sign and property is also not considered the mind of sign apprehension. If there is no mind of sign apprehension that is not the mind of the possessor of the sign of the nature sign itself, then here, establishing that color is impermanent, the mind of sign apprehension and the mind of the possessor of the sign are cause and effect, which is very contradictory to what is directly stated. If there is direct perception that apprehends the nature of the sign of the effect sign, then, by appearing there, it is also emptiness, which contradicts that you yourself explain both sign apprehension and possessor of the sign. Again, when refuting the view of Master Dharmottara, the translator said: When establishing that the mind of the possessor of the sign is non-deceptive, establishing that the mind of sign apprehension is non-deceptive is untimely and irrelevant, because if it is non-deceptive for the probandum, then it is the mind of the possessor of the sign itself, and not its cause. If it is non-deceptive for the sign, then when establishing that the possessor of the sign is non-deceptive, establishing that it is non-deceptive for it is irrelevant.

It is very unreasonable to say "yes." If the valid cognition that measures the three aspects of establishing sound as impermanent through the sign of being produced does not succeed in being infallible in measuring the three aspects, then it is impossible for the inference with the sign that measures sound as impermanent to be infallibly established. If establishing the mind that holds the sign as infallible is irrelevant in order to establish such an inference with a sign as infallible, then in order to establish sound as impermanent, it would be too much to say that establishing the three aspects of using being produced as a sign to establish it is irrelevant. If there is an inference that holds the sign, then it would be meaningless to show it separately from the sign-possessor, because it is included within the inference of the sign-possessor. It is also very unreasonable to say things like, "If there is a direct perception that holds the sign, then the emptiness that appears there will be explained immediately, which contradicts this." The inference based on the sign of establishing sound as impermanent through the sign of being produced, which is independent and harmful, is said to be the mind that holds the sign. Therefore, it is unreasonable to show them separately from the inference of realizing sound as impermanent, because the statement of being too far-fetched has been thrown out. Even if there is a direct perception that holds the sign, there is no need to doubt and analyze it. If there is a mistake, the doubt that it contradicts being infallible enters the inference, so it is appropriate to analyze it here with a specific purpose, because it is analysis, not a general analysis of all minds that hold the sign. Second, the way in which Chos mchog's view is established as the correct side is as follows: In this way, because other views have become meaningless, Chos mchog's view remains in a state free from harm. To this end, in order to hold it reasonably, there are two ways to hold the sign without being deceived: one is to generally hold the pervasion without relying on the subject; the other is to remember the infallibility of what has already been held when holding the property of the subject. If one does not remember the infallibility of what has already been held, then one will not realize what is to be established. If we explain the meaning of these words, it is like this: The pervasion that holds the sign without deceiving the property to be established, which was previously said to be the holding of the sign, also has two aspects: one is the valid cognition that generally holds the pervasion that the sign does not deceive the property to be established, without relying on the fact that the subject is established by valid cognition; the other is from that other.
