I am. The absence of things is empty by the absence of things. Self-nature is empty by self-nature. Other things are empty by other things. Thus, the four emptinesses are taught again. These emptinesses are called the Great Vehicle. Emptiness or non-emptiness, established by self-nature, does not exist even slightly. Subduing with such individual aspects of emptiness is merely asserted as existing conventionally. As it is also said in the Root Wisdom: If there is a little non-empty, then there will be a little empty. If there is no little non-empty, how can there be empty? One should not say empty, nor should one do non-empty, one should not do two and non-two, one should speak for the sake of designation. It is said that the former does not speak of the aspect established by self-nature, and the latter speaks of the meaning of existence in conventional truth for the sake of designation. The second has two parts: explaining in detail the division into sixteen emptinesses, and explaining in detail the division into four emptinesses. The first has four parts: explaining the four, such as the emptiness of the interior; explaining the four, such as the great emptiness; explaining the four, such as the emptiness that transcends extremes; and explaining the four, such as the emptiness of all phenomena. The first has two parts: explaining the emptiness of the interior, and explaining the remaining three emptinesses. The first has two parts: the actual meaning, and incidentally explaining the way of acknowledging self-nature. The first is: the internal dharmas, such as the six eyes, etc., whatever is without establishment by self-nature, that is considered the emptiness of the interior. That is, the eye is empty because it is established by its own nature, because the nature of the eye is empty because it is established by its own nature. As it is said of the eye, so should the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind be declared. Thus, the reason for emptiness is that the eyes, etc., are not permanently abiding in ultimate truth, and are not destructible. Here, Patsab says that permanent existence does not mean not abandoning self-nature. That is, because even if it exists for a while, it will change, so it is not destructible.

Thus it was said. Thus it will be taught that any object that possesses inherent existence must inevitably become impermanent and irreversible. Translating it in this way is a flawed translation, because if that were the case, the sign would have to pervade the opposite of what is to be proven. Therefore, as translated by Nagtsho, it is better to translate it as: "Any object that exists by its own nature will either remain permanent or will become something that decays." Therefore, it is clear that the way the negative particle is used in the former is flawed. In the commentary, it says: "Because it is permanently abiding, and because it is not destructible." Having stated this, if the eye and so on have inherent existence, since inherent existence has no change and destruction, then these would have no change and destruction, but that is not the case, therefore these have no inherent existence. Explaining it in this way is also not reasonable, because if that were the case, it should be said that because it would become without destruction, therefore there is destruction, but that contradicts what is said in the sutra, "because it is not destruction." "Not being permanently abiding" is also the same, it should be translated as Nagtsho's translation says: "Permanence refers to the nature of not decaying." In this way, having refuted the permanence of being permanently abiding, in order to prevent the thought that the eye and so on also exist slightly in their own time, and then later become the opposite of destruction, it is said, "because it is not destruction." In short, the meaning is that it is not established in either permanence or impermanence. In the Twenty Thousand Light Commentary, this is also taught in a different way. The inherent existence of phenomena is also as stated in the Root Wisdom: Inherent existence from causes and conditions, it is not reasonable to arise. What arises from causes and conditions, inherent existence becomes something made. If inherent existence is made, how can it be inherent existence? Inherent existence and unmade, does not depend on otherness. As it is said. Secondly, again: Is there anything that the teacher made as a characteristic of inherent existence that is not born from causes and conditions in the treatise, like that kind of inherent existence, does the teacher acknowledge it? If asked, by what authority is it made? The Blessed One
