O son, this is the suchness of all dharmas! Whether the Tathagatas appear or do not appear, the realm of dharma remains as it is. Thus, all dharmas are emptiness, and all dharmas are without characteristics. This is not something that the Tathagatas temporarily distinguish, even the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas also attain this non-conceptual suchness. Thus it is said. If the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, did not lead the Bodhisattvas into the gateways of realizing the all-knowing wisdom, then, at that very moment, he would enter into complete Nirvana, and the work of benefiting all sentient beings would also be interrupted. Thus it is said. They say that after gaining mastery over the non-conceptual wisdom on the eighth ground, if one merely abides in that state, then arising from that state, one should be encouraged to accumulate merit in the subsequent attainment as a cause for obtaining the powers of the Buddha, etc. And it is said that even the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas can attain the non-conceptual wisdom that directly realizes the suchness of dharma. If there is realization of that very suchness, then there is no need to strive to accumulate other merits, it is enough to become accustomed to that alone, this is the nonsensical talk of the unwise. Secondly, because the Buddhas arise from cessation on this eighth ground, therefore on this ground, the mind without attachment, that is, wisdom, does not dwell together with the faults of attachment and other afflictions. On the eighth ground, the sun of non-conceptual wisdom rises, and the defilements like darkness, that is, the afflictions that arose earlier and became the cause of samsara, all those practices in the three realms, together with their root, that is, the seed, will be pacified, that is, abandoned. Thus, although all afflictions are exhausted and one becomes the lord of the three realms, this Bodhisattva, in the state of exhaustion of afflictions, is not able to obtain all the qualities and riches of the Buddhas, which are boundless like the sky. In order to obtain that, this eighth ground practitioner must strive. Then, how is it known that all afflictions are exhausted on this ground? In the tenth ground it is said: Here, he will enter into complete Nirvana at that very moment.

Because (the Buddha) said so. It is true that in this ground there exists the liberation of the mind from desire for the three realms, because for those who have cut off afflictions but have not liberated desire, it is impossible to realize Nirvana. The third point is, if this ground has liberated desire for the three realms, then birth (skye ba, Sanskrit: jāti, meaning: birth) in samsara will cease. Then, how can this perfect all the dharmas that are the cause of Buddhahood? Answer: Although the eighth-ground being continues to revolve in samsara due to the power of karma and afflictions, once this ground is attained, one will attain the ten kinds of mastery, such as mastery over wisdom. Through these ten masteries, this Bodhisattva will, as explained in the Garland Sutra, through the door of the mind-made body, manifest various forms of his own body among sentient beings in existence. Therefore, it is not contradictory to perfect the accumulations of this ground. The ten masteries are: By blessing the measure of life for incalculable and again incalculable eons, one obtains mastery over life. By entering into immeasurable wisdom in samadhi, one obtains mastery over mind. By showing blessings that adorn all realms of the world with many ornaments, one obtains mastery over resources. By showing the ripening of karma as it is in time through blessings, one obtains mastery over karma. By showing all births in all realms of the world, one obtains mastery over birth. By showing complete enlightenment in Buddha-fields and at any time one pleases, one obtains mastery over aspirations. By showing all realms of the world filled with Buddhas, one obtains mastery over faith. By showing magical transformations in all Buddha-fields, one obtains mastery over magical powers. By showing the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the unshared dharmas of the Buddha, the marks and signs, and complete enlightenment, one obtains mastery over wisdom. By showing the appearance of the door of dharma without beginning or end, one obtains mastery over dharma. As extensively explained in the Ten Bhumi Sutra. This is the intention of the extensive commentary on Entering the Middle Way.
