Ur ro. Here, the commentary says that the fault of falling into multiple selves is directed at the first of the previous two views, or other faults are also directed at both views. This cannot be raised merely because one thinks that multiple and essence are the same, but it is directed at those who think that the self and the aggregates are completely different, completely non-existent, and completely the same. Moreover, since others did not initially make such a commitment, it is false that mere identity and difference of essence are without fault. However, for those who truly commit to the self and the aggregates, if the essence is the same, it is presented as an undifferentiated unity, and then after that, the fault of multiple selves and the five aggregates becoming one is thrown out. At that time, according to the scripture "When the world is born, only one person is born," the other party will not think that there are multiple selves either. The self will become substantial, because only those substances such as form, and the distinctions such as past, are transformed into different things, are called aggregates, and only these are called self, if the self becomes substantially existent, then, monks, these five are only names, only terms, only designations, such as: past time, future time, space, nirvana, and person. Similarly, just as relying on the collection of various limbs is called a chariot, similarly relying on the various aggregates is called a conventional sentient being. From this scripture, the other party will not think that the self is substantial either. Furthermore, the view of the collection of ruins that observes the aggregates is clinging to substance, that is, it has an object that is substantially established, so it will not become inverted like the knowledge of blue and yellow. Therefore, when abandoning the view of the collection of ruins, it is not abandoned in the way that similar kinds do not arise continuously, or merely like the knowledge that focuses on blue, yellow, etc., it is abandoned only by abandoning the attachment of desire that focuses on the view of the collection of ruins. Furthermore, if one's own aggregates are the self, then according to your view, at the time of nirvana without remainder, all five aggregates are completely destroyed, which will inevitably lead to the annihilation of the self. Therefore, it will become a nihilistic view of clinging to extremes, because you think that clinging to what is grasped as the self as permanent or annihilated is an extreme view.

In the moments, just as the aggregates arise and cease in each moment, I too arise and cease in each moment with different natures. Therefore, when remembering the past, just as one does not cling to "my body existed before." Similarly, one would not say, "At that time, I was the king, I was the slave." Because the self of that time also perished like the body, and no longer exists. And, because one has accepted that in this life, another self, distinct in nature from the previous self, has been born. In the Root Wisdom it is also said: "The aggregates are not the self, because they arise and cease. How can the aggregates be the self?" It is also said: "If the aggregates were the self, they would have the nature of arising and ceasing." Thus it is said. If the prior and subsequent moments are different in nature, then, because there is no self as the agent, there is also no basis for the existence of karma, and therefore there is no karma. Then, there would be no connection with the result of that karma. If one thinks that there is no fault because the result of the karma created by the previous moment is enjoyed in the subsequent moments, then, because the ripening of the karma accumulated by others is enjoyed by others, it would become that the fruit accumulated by one continuum is enjoyed by another. In this way, the creation of karma would be wasted, and one would encounter what has not been created. In the Root Wisdom it is also said: "If this is different from that, this should arise without that. Likewise, there would be annihilation, and the act should be empty. The fruit of the act done by another, another should also receive. Thus, there should be beings without karma." If the prior and subsequent are different in nature, because one should not rely on the prior, the prior would also arise without existing. And, the previous self exists in that way, and it is said that one is born here without dying there, and so on. Second, if the prior and subsequent moments are indeed different, even so, because it is one continuum, there is no fault. If that is indeed the case, then for permanent, substantially different things, there is no fault in having one continuum. That is also unreasonable, because for things that are different in nature, there is one continuum.
