In a place like this, there will be no harm from the world, so it is necessary to point out this special place that is free from harm. In this regard, it is necessary to first explain the distinction between the two truths, which has five aspects: the common characteristics of the two truths; applying the two truths to specific situations; explaining the respective essence of the two truths; in terms of refutation, pointing out the agent of harm from the world; and pointing out the manner in which the world harms. The first part has four aspects: by distinguishing the two truths, explaining that all phenomena have two essences; explaining other classifications of the two truths; explaining the classification of conventional truth based on the world; and explaining that the object of attachment does not exist even in name, because there is a delusion about the object of attachment. The first point is: Here, the Bhagawans who understand the self-nature of the two truths without any inversion have clearly shown that the self-nature of all phenomena, such as actions, thoughts, diseases, and external objects such as sprouts, all have two aspects. What are these two aspects? They are the self-nature of conventional truth and the self-nature of ultimate truth. This shows that even a thing like a sprout, if distinguished, has two essences: a conventional essence and an ultimate essence, rather than saying that the single essence of a sprout is the two truths in relation to ordinary people and noble ones. If that were the case, then there would be no phenomenon without essence. If the basis is established, then it must either have a single essence or different essences, which is unavoidable. Even if the existence of essence is admitted, it is not contradictory to the non-existence of an essence that is established by its own nature. Therefore, the ultimate essence of things such as sprouts is: for those who directly realize the true meaning, it is the self-nature obtained through the special object of wisdom, not established by its own self-nature. This is one of the two essences mentioned. The so-called special wisdom means that it is not obtained through any noble wisdom, but refers to the special wisdom, that is, a distinction. That is, it is obtained through the wisdom that measures the nature of reality. When explaining that it is obtained or established through that wisdom, in order to refute the view that if it is established through that wisdom, then one would cling to the view that it is truly established, it is said: it is not established by its own self-nature. This is said because the meditative wisdom of the noble ones measures the ultimate truth

Therefore, if someone, according to this scholar's view, says that because it is truly established, it is not knowable, then this view is pretending to be proficient in the scholars' view without fully understanding the meaning of what this view says, that even if found through meditative equipoise, it will not be truly established. The nature of conventional truth other than the ultimate truth is: Those whose minds are completely covered by the obscuration of ignorance of ordinary beings, due to the power of seeing falsehood, find that the self exists. Just as the objects seen by children appear to be established by their own nature, the self does not exist in that way, but is one of the two natures. Therefore, saying that the finder of ultimate truth is a noble being refers to the main point, and it is not that ordinary beings with the view of the Middle Way will not find it. Saying that the finder of conventional truth is a self-satisfied ordinary being also refers to the main point of seeing the basis of conventional truth, the inner and outer phenomena, due to the power of ignorance. It is not that the nominal valid cognition in the continuum of noble beings will not find these phenomena. Even if the basis of conventional truth, such as a pot, is found without finding the view of the Middle Way, in order to find that the basis is conventional truth by valid cognition, it is necessary to first find the view of the Middle Way, because if that basis is established as conventional truth, it must be established as false, and in order to be truly established as false, the true establishment of that basis must first be refuted by valid cognition. Therefore, the so-called "due to the power of seeing falsehood" means that even if those self-satisfied people see falsehood, they do not necessarily need to be established as false. For example, when a magician sees magical horses and elephants, although what is seen is false, it does not necessarily need to be established as false. Therefore, the meaning of establishing conventional truth as found by seeing falsehood is: it is found by the nominal valid cognition that measures the meaning of deceiving the knowable falsehood. Among the two natures or essences mentioned earlier, whatever is the object found by the discriminating wisdom that sees the true meaning, that is the reality, that is, the ultimate truth, which will be explained in the section on "This is due to the power of cataracts," etc.
