Both are also present at the same time, but there is no simultaneity between soil and sprout. They think that the two actions are simultaneous, so the soil and sprout are also simultaneous, and take the height of the two ends of the balance as an example to show that this example is not valid. If two actions can exist simultaneously, it does not mean that two things must also exist simultaneously. If it is thought that things like soil and sprouts do not have simultaneity, but their actions can exist simultaneously, it is also not possible, because those opponents have not admitted that action and thing are different. Moreover, what is being discussed now is the situation of preventing two actions from being established by self-nature. There are other faults, that is, in relation to the action of birth, the sprout as the agent, is the future when tending to birth, so it does not exist at that time. If it is not there, then without the sprout as the basis, the action of birth that is relied on is also not the reason why it can exist, so it is not simultaneous with extinction. Therefore, two actions cannot be simultaneous. If it is said that, in the Holy Rice Seedling Sutra, is it not in the manner of the height of the two ends of the balance, in the only instant, the seed perishes and the sprout is born? Therefore, shouldn't the view that soil and sprouts are similar to the height of the two ends of the balance be prevented? The answer is that the statement is true, but it is not to explain other births and births with one's own characteristics. It is said that if birth is prevented by "this birth", then only the birth established by one's own nature is prevented, and it is absolutely not to prevent the sprout from being born from the seed. Then, if that sutra does not explain that soil and sprouts are simultaneous in the manner of the height of the two ends of the balance, then what kind of simultaneity does that example refer to? The explanation says that it is to clearly explain the illusion that arises simultaneously relying on and is established without observation. The so-called arising simultaneously relying on must refer to the simultaneous existence of two actions, because the example of the height of the two ends of the balance in that sutra must explain a kind of simultaneity, but the simultaneity of soil and sprouts cannot be explained. Therefore, the simultaneity of two actions is prevented, which refers to the action established by self-characteristi

There are two actions. It is not forbidden for two actions to generally exist simultaneously. Therefore, once production is accepted, there must be two simultaneous tendencies: the cessation of the cause and the manifestation of the effect. This is not unreasonable for merely production and nominally accepting production. However, it is contradictory to accept production in the ultimate sense and by its own nature. For the former, although the two actions of cause and effect, arising and ceasing, are simultaneous, the two, cause and effect, need not be simultaneous. But for the latter, if the action is simultaneous, then the cause and effect must also be simultaneous. Thus, the action of the effect arising must depend on the agent of "this arises," such as a sprout, so it is the dependent and the dependence. If the dependent and dependence are established in the ultimate sense, then it is unreasonable for the nature to change. At any time, the action needs a dependent, so even when the sprout is tending to arise, there must be a sprout as the dependent of the action of arising, so the simultaneous appearance of cause and effect will cause harm, so it is unreasonable. For nominal production, once it becomes dependent and dependence, it does not have to be so at all times, so it is not the same. The action of the sprout arising simultaneously with the seed is the action of the sprout tending to arise. It and the sprout are generally dependent and dependence. Even if there is no sprout at the time of that action, it is not contradictory for the action to exist. For example, in general, if the place of relation is negated, then the related will also disappear. The seed is the place of relation, and the sprout is the related. When the sprout exists, even if the seed disappears, the sprout will not disappear, which is not contradictory. In this way, if you can understand well how to refute outwards with reason, and how the reason for refutation does not turn back to refute itself, and if you can establish the tenets of Madhyamaka without error, then you are a Madhyamaka. If you only speak of appearances as when preventing, and hope to quibble when refuting, then we will not argue with madmen. Do as it says in the Clear Words. The second point is that what is said here is that because the earth and the sprout do not appear simultaneously, there is no otherness in essence, so it is unreasonable to arise from another. If cause and effect exist simultaneously, then there is otherness there, so there is arising from another. For example, eye consciousness and the feeling that is simultaneous with it, and so on.
