When it is proven that "it is not true to be established," if it is held that this is proving that "conventional truth is not true," then it is a very crude way of thinking, because this way is to contaminate the teacher's intention with the dirt of one's own mind, which is a bad way of explaining. Such proof is not for those three types of people (referring to people of three different capacities), but for others like us, proving that it is not true for those three types of people. For others who are inferior to those three types of people, they have innate clinging to truth, so it is impossible to prove that nothing is true for all their conventional truths. If it is not as previously stated, but to prove that conventional truth is not true in front of those three types of people, it would become an extremely irrelevant argument, because in the minds of those people, if that basis is to be proven as conventional truth, then that basis must first be proven to be false, so taking their lack of clinging to truth as a reason is simply ridiculous. The reason why it is said that in the minds of those people, if that basis is to be proven as conventional truth, then that basis must first be proven to be false is that when we say that a vase, etc., is a conventional truth, the word "true" is established from the two aspects of consciousness and object, but it is not established as true on the object itself, but it is necessary to establish the consciousness that clings to truth as the nature of conventionality in order to be regarded as true. If this distinction is not combined, it cannot be proven as true, but must be regarded as false, and this is the key. The second point is that this school's recognition of afflictions is different from what is said in the upper and lower Abhidharma, and has its own unique characteristics, so it is very important to understand this. Now let's explain this. In the clinging to the truth of things, there are two types of clinging to the truth: clinging to the truth of person (pudgala) and clinging to the truth of dharma. Moreover, they also believe that these two clingings are the two ego-grasps, which has been said before. This clinging to truth is explained as defiled ignorance in both the Commentary on Entering the Middle Way and the Commentary on the Four Hundred Verses. This ignorance has been abandoned by the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Arhats, and in the Commentary on the Four Hundred Verses, it has also been abandoned by the Bodhisattvas who have attained the forbearance of non-origination of dharmas. Therefore, defiled ignorance is the opposite of the true reality of selflessness. However, this ignorance is not merely the lack of this realization, or merely different from this realization, but as an opposite, it clings to the existence of person (pudgala) and dharma in their own nature. If this is done, there will be clinging to the self of dharma.
